The Picturebooks Premiere Video For New Song “Rebel” Featuring Lzzy Hale (Halestorm)

The Picturebooks have teamed up with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm) for a new song titled “Rebel.” You can find an official video for that below. The track will appear on the band’s upcoming album “The Major Minor Collective.”

The Picturebooks commented:

“‘Rebel‘ started out as an idea with Lzzy in mind and quickly surpassed everybody´s expectations. Lzzy tapped into something really special with both lyrics and vocal performance and when we heard her voice on the track for the first time we were totally blown away! Give this one a listen at full volume and be ready to be floored.”

Hale added:

“This project came into my life at a time when I really needed it. The pandemic stole a huge part of my life, and my identity. I was forced to look myself in the mirror and figure out who I am without that missing piece.

I had to remind myself that no matter what is happening outside…the flame that burns inside of me is still alive. Writing these lyrics was like drawing a road map to guide myself back to who I am. No one can do it for me, no one can save me but myself. In order to do that, I have to start a revolution inside my soul, and be a rebel from the inside out. This song is my war cry.

The instrumental music was so inspiring that by the third listen the melody naturally spilled out like some alien hybrid of all my influences.

I am so grateful to The Picturebooks for bringing me into their world and giving me the freedom to express my personal journey of rediscovering myself. And I know that, in times like these, this song will bring the listener hope for the future and the confidence to survive whatever that future becomes.”

Clutch’s Neil Fallon Guests On New The Picturebooks Song “Corrina Corrina”

Neil Fallon (Clutch) and Dave Dinsmore (Brant Bjork) are featured on The Picturebooks’ new song “Corrina Corrina.” You can find a video for that track below:

The Picturebooks commented:

“This was a dream come true! I mean – come on – Neil fucking Fallon from Clutch and Dave Dinsmore from Brant Bjork join us on this track??!!!!!

We love how the song turned out and we LOVE how much Neil and Dave gave for this song and that they’re so happy with the outcome!

That´s what music can do, it can be a bridge, even in a time where we can´t travel…nothing can stop us from making music!”

Fallon continued:

“Clutch toured with The Picturebooks in 2018. It was a great tour and we got along really well with Fynn and Philip.

A few months back I received an email from them, inviting me to sing on a track they recorded. I was flattered and I loved the track. The lyrics are my spin on the old American standard “Corrina, Corrina”. Hopefully one day we will be able to perform this on a real stage with a real audience!“

Dinsmore added:

“I was living in Kreuzberg, walking home one day and randomly saw Fynn, Phillip and Claus hanging out at a local record shop (Core-Tex Records).

We started talking, snapped some photos with the Core-Tex guys and decided we would meet up later for a skate-session at E-LOK Bowl.

As soon as I got home, I got a text from Claus asking me if I would want to record some bass on a song they were working on. I didn’t hesitate – of course I was down to jam with these dudes!

I invited them over later that day, and we laid down some tracks right there in my apartment.

I hadn´t touched a bass in more than a year and this particular fender precision bass of mine hadn´t even been opened yet. We recorded everything straight into a DI Box over my lousy speakers and only went through the song like 4 times. Never wrote anything down – just magically happened.

Later I would learn that Neil Fallon from Clutch would be singing on the song I played, which was an awesome surprise.

We ended the day with a rad skate session with the gang from Barrio Skate Shop. It was one of the most serendipitous, best days I’ve had in a really long time, surrounded by positive people and some of my favorite things – skating and music.”

Volbeat Officially Cancel North American Tour With Clutch & The Picturebooks

Volbeat have officially cancelled their North American tour with Clutch and The Picturebooks due to the coronavirus pandemic. The band were previously hoping to reschedule the trek, but they were unable to do so.

The band commented:

“Hello Volfam!

We hate to be another band starting a post with “due to the current circumstances,” so instead we will say how much we were looking forward to the US headline leg of the Rewind, Replay, Rebound tour.

Coming to see you in your hometowns with a full-length Volbeat set and getting to play alongside Clutch and The Picturebooks, two amazing bands we are lucky enough to call friends, was going to be a major highlight for the band.

We, alongside our team, the local promoters and venues have all been working hard to try to reschedule these shows but as the timing for the safe return of live events is still unclear, we feel it is best to cancel the tour.

Again, we can’t say enough how much we were looking forward to this run, and we will make plans to be back in North America as soon as it is safe for stages to open back up.

Please keep an eye on your inboxes as you will soon be receiving information about ticket refunds from your point of purchase.’

In the meantime, please continue to stay safe, take care of yourselves and each other, and we’ll see each other again as soon as we can.

– Volbeat”
