New Brittle Star Fossil Named After Rotting Christ Members

A new brittle star fossil has been named “Brezinacantha Tolis” in honor of Rotting Christ’s Sakis Tolis and Themis Tolis. The specimen was discovered by Dr. Ben Thuy and and Dr. Lea Numberger from the Natural History Museum of Luxembourg.

Sakis commented:

“My deepest thanks to the paleontological community, and especially to Dr. Ben Thuy and Dr. Lea Numberger, to name a fossil under my name! This is one of the greatest honors I have received as an individual and musician and gives me power to keep on creating during these wild times. Brezinacantha Tolis can be found in the Natural History Museum in Maastricht. If you are close have a look!”

Thuy and Numberger added:

“When we first saw the fossil brittle star, we immediately knew it was something exciting. It turned out to be a species new to science, and so we had the privilege to name it. With the choice of the name, we wanted to combine our joint passions for science and music, and decided to honour one of our favourite bands.

The new fossil belongs to an animal that lived in a dark, toxic environment in the depths of an ancient ocean, dwelling on the remains of their dead predecessors. This is pure black metal! Naming this species after Sakis and Themis Tolis is our way to issue an academic recognition of their talent and hard work. Now they own a small piece of immortality, because scientific species names are for eternity.”

Devastation On The Nation Tour Featuring Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Etc. Officially Cancelled

The Devastation On The Nation Tour, which was supposed to feature Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant, has officially been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. This news comes after the trek was previously postponed to 2021.

The following statement was posted on September 25:

“There is no easy way to put this. Devastation on the Nation Tour 2021 is canceled.

When we rescheduled the tour we thought that in a year everything would be okay again, but it still is not and we have no clear picture of what the future holds. More and more venues are closing down every month. This virus (COVID-19) has ruined everything for so many bands, musicians, and venues.

Even if the tour were to still happen in February/March of 2021, how many more venues will be closed down? What will the capacity restrictions be for each show? How will 3 out of 5 bands from a different country survive here IF the borders reopen? It’s impossible to know and at this point there is no light at the end of the tunnel. We will not reschedule again until we 100% know that it will be possible for the tour to happen and that the bands from outside of the US are able to come here.

All tickets purchased will be refunded. If you purchased tickets via, we will have those tickets refunded right away. If you purchased tickets NOT on this website, please find your email and email the company that you purchased them through for a refund.

We thank you all for the support and we will be back one day.

Aside from this, I will be doing an AMA today starting at 3pm EST/2pm CST/12pm PST via my Twitch channel. Speaking about DOTN, touring, marketing, listening to your bands music, and much more. If you’d like to join this, it is free! I’d like to talk to you all. I know this a very rough time for everyone but we’re all trying to stay positive.”

Rescheduled Dates Revealed For Devastation On The Nation Tour Feat. Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Etc.

The dates have officially been rescheduled for the Devastation On The Nation Tour. As previously reported, that trek will feature Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant.

Devastation On The Nation and Metal Festival Tours founder Daniel DeFonce commented:

“We were pretty upset when we found out that the President issued a travel ban from Europe to the United States. We knew there was no way around it. We thought about having the bands fly here before the travel ban came into affect, but with more and more states/cities putting a cap on concerts, gatherings, etc, we knew that shows would have ended up being canceled. Within 24 hours, we heard back from all five bands on the tour about rescheduling it to February/March of 2021 and all five bands were in. From there, I went back to all the promoters/venues and was able to do the same exact route and have the same venues for the tour. It was an incredible feeling when this happened. So here we are, same lineup, same route, same venues but it’s happening February 11th – March 14th of 2021. We hope to see you all at these shows in 2021! Stay safe everyone.”

Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Etc. Tour Postponed

This year’s Devastation On The Nation Tour, which features Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant, has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The trek will now take place in 2021 with the same lineup.

The following statement was issued:

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are numerous states and cities on the Devastation On The Nation Tour that are putting bans on gatherings anywhere between 100-1000 people. On top of that, the President of the United States of America has put a travel ban in place for anyone coming from Europe to America for the next 30 days which starts Friday.

Three out of the five bands on this tour are from Europe which are Rotting Christ, Borknagar, and Wolfheart. They were scheduled to fly here on March 18th. Unfortunately, as you can see, our hands are tied and we have no other choice than to postpone the Devastation On The Nation Tour.

The tour will now be rescheduled to February 11th – March 14th, 2021 and will have the same route in place. The tour will still feature Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant.

To everyone who has purchased tickets already. If you would like a refund, you are able to get one by contacting the company you purchased it from. If you would like to hold onto your current ticket, it will be honored at the rescheduled date. We hope many of you will keep your tickets and join us in February/March of 2021.

Please stay tuned for our next announcement which will come very soon”
