Obscura have premiered a new video for their new song “When Stars Collide.” This track features Soilwork’s Björn “Speed” Strid and it will appear on the band’s new album “A Valediction,“ which will be released on November 19. Steffen Kummerer commented:

“One of the highlights and contested compositions of ‘A Valediction‘ features Björn Strid of our label mates Soilwork. ‘When Stars Collide‘ recombines an uplifting pace with a rather dark and bitter narrative that leads into to a story for reflection. A sense of delight and feeling of relief covers all mournful misery.”

Obscura Premiere “Devoured Usurper” Music Video

Obscura have premiered a new video for their new song “Devoured Usurper.” This track is from the band’s new album “A Valediction,“ which will be released on November 19.

Steffen Kummerer commented:

“Merciless, moldered and putrid alike – ‘Devoured Usurper‘ showcases a crude abrasive side to shake some bodies at live shows in the near future. With utter brutality, the song depaints an inevitable reckoning and underlines the death metal roots of Obscura.”

He also added the following about the video, which was directed by Mirko Witzki:

“We recorded the music video at famous Stress Studio in Graz, Austria, where also drums for the new album have been tracked. We prepare our live shows and assemble parts of our production in this unique environment before we embark on upcoming tours.”

Obscura Premiere “A Valediction” Music Video

Obscura have premiered a new video for the title track of their new album “A Valediction.“ That effort will be released on November 19. Steffen Kummerer commented:

“The title track combines past and future to the present. With a combination of virtuosity, catchiness and clear arrangements, ‘A Valediction‘ unfolds a bittersweet, fragile temper and sums up the lyrical framework of the entire album. A worthy title track and characterful summit of upcoming concerts.”

Obscura Premiere “Solaris” Music Video

Obscura have premiered a new video for their new song “Solaris.” This track is from the band’s new album “A Valediction,“ which will be released on November 19. Steffen Kummerer commented:

“‘Solaris’ turned out to become one of the band’s shortest and utmost direct compositions featuring all trademarks lots of attitudes and a melodic approach. Flattering guitar work pushing drums and swinging bass lines combined with a relentless vocal performance and ultrasonic leads became easily a highlight of ‘A Valediction’.”

The group commented:

“Today, we’re excited to announce that the songwriting for the upcoming album is finished and we’ll enter the studio very soon. We tapped famous award-winning producer Fredrik Nordström for the upcoming full-length album and booked famous Studio Fredman, located in Gothenburg, Sweden. The sixth album of Obscura is scheduled for a 2021 woldwide release via Nuclear Blast.”

Vocalist/guitarist Steffen Kummerer added:

“As of now, songwriting duties for the new, yet untitled album, have been finished. We picked the most promising compositions out of more than twenty pieces written during the last months and we can’t wait to record our sixth studio effort, starting in December. While the new album contains more guitar solos than any of our records before, all compositions are eagerly waiting to be performed live on stage and celebrated worldwide with our fans. As a collective, we are enthusiastic about the diverse, progressive and heavy songs to be released in 2021 through Nuclear Blast records.”
