Benighted Premiere New Song “A Personified Evil” Featuring Fleshgod Apocalypse’s Francesco Paoli

Benighted have teamed up with Fleshgod Apocalypse’s Francesco Paoli for a new song titled “A Personified Evil.” You can check that out below. Benighted’s Julien Truchan said the following about the track:

“NEW BENIGHTED SUMMER HIT! Here we go with “A Personified Evil,” our brand new single featuring none but our amazing brother Francesco Paoli from Fleshgod Apocalypse! 2’53 of pure violence available in this lyric video released by our friend Guilherme who did a great job! Tell us what you think about this new piece of insanity and please spread it everywhere you can, not only on the beach! 🤣 Thank you for your support and let’s dance!”

Hellfest organizers commented:

“Hellbangers,

What can we say except that we are proud (and excited) to finally unveil the long-awaited line up of our anniversary edition! Keeping such a line up as a secret for several weeks has been no easy task, especially in the last few days…

It’s been more than 16 months since our work rhythm was turned upside down by the arrival of this virus, since the live music industry was extinguished. Despite this, our confidence has never been affected and we have kept working with a positive mindset.

The frustration of two years without a festival has led us to dream even bigger about our reunion! In 2022, we are offering a new and unique format spread over 10 days! Never done before, this formula will, without a doubt, remain in the history of so-called “extreme” music! Twice as historic, because this formula is meant to exist only in 2022 and will not happen again in the years to come.

After a first weekend from 17 to 19th June 2022, we double the fun with an additional weekend from 23rd to 26th June! A real marathon that will see no less than 350 artists on 6 stages!

As usual, the festival does not deviate from its principles: you will see artists capable of performing in stadiums, with artists who are usually playing in smaller venues, and for some even in pub caves. Punk, Heavy, Black, Hardcore, Death, Stoner, Pagan, Power, we have done our best to put together what we believe to be the “edition of the century”.

No need to list the program in detail as you are not, and for the second year, headbanging at the festival right now. You can find out all this by yourself, at home or with your friends, enjoying our virtual edition “Hellfest From Home“! (More information over here : fromhome.hellfest.fr)

This exceptional edition is also an opportunity for us to thank the pass holders who have been waiting for more than 2 years. Your loyalty and trust have kept us going and we do not have enough words to thank you. It seemed fair to us that you should access the ticket sale 24 hours before the public sale in order for you to obtain your ticket for sure.

We are aware that some of you, for professional, family or simply financial reasons, will not be able to attend this XXL edition. By going through (and only through!) our partner TICKETSWAP (please stop Viagogo and others…), you will be able to resell your pass for the weekend you are the least interested in, and thus make one more happy fan!

For all the others who will have the chance to live these 10 days of anthology with us, we promise that you will remember our reunion! As a bonus, we might even make you a nice “FINISHER” t-shirt so that this moment will remain engraved forever in your memories. Once in a lifetime celebration!

Last but not least, we could not finish without thanking all those who have supported us during these last months. Volunteers, intermittents, sponsors, service providers, media partners, people from Clisson, we are all eager to see you again and to live with you this future adventure, which promises to be historic!

Stay Strong. Stay Safe.

Aborted commented:

“Ok you dirty ghouls and terror maniacs! The time has come, we’ve all had enough time sitting at home, eating thousands of pizzas and gaining tremendous amounts of weight… and well, eventually, we wrote an album! So here is some good news to make your 2021 hopefully slightly less of a giant smelly turd than 2020:

1. We will be entering the studio, for said album; the writing is done and we are beyond stoked about it. More on that later.
2. HELL OVER EUROPE TIME! That’s right!! Your favorite and most infamous extreme metal tour returns (or well, at least we hope it’s either of those).

Added to the mix to spice up your life are: The Acacia Strain (they hate stuff maybe as much as we do, so we are looking forward to bitch like a bunch of old farts on a daily basis). Once again, we team up with our brothers from (possibly) other mothers Benighted (No promises if Julien will wear footwear, good thing we all have masks, right?). Stefano clearly has some fat to burn, so we figured he should play twice a night and thus our good friends Hideous Divinity have been added as well for a good dose of Mario blasts!”

Benighted Premiere New Song “Stab The Weakest”

Benighted have premiered a new song titled “Stab The Weakest.“ The track is inspired by Michael Myers and it can be streamed below:

Julien Truchan commented:

“We all agree to say that these times we are living in really suck, so everything we can do to cheer us up is welcome! We, Benighted, decided to prepare something special for you and do it the HALLOWEEN way! That’s why we’ve released a new track today called ‘Stab The Weakest,’ a brutal track where you might recognize one of your favorite horror movies theme’s….

With this track, we also have released a very cool shirt designed by our brother Gary Ronaldson, who did a fantastic job again! You can order it and other items on our brand-new Big Cartel shop!”

Act Of Denial (Soilwork, Testament, Etc.) Premiere New Song “Puzzle Heart”

Bjorn “Speed” Strid (Soilwork, etc.), Voi Cox (Koziak, Victim), Luger (Benighted, Koziak), Steve DiGiorgio (Testament), Kerim “Krimh” Lechner (Septicflesh), and John Lönnmyr (The Night Flight Orchestra) have joined forces in a new project called Act Of Denial. The band are currently working on a new album, titled “Negative,” and their first single, “Puzzle Heart,” can be found below:

Voi and Luger commented:

“This is now just a continuation of what we have been doing all our lives and only now in our ‘older age’ we have done something serious. Of course when it comes to music, at least for us, we wanted to record an album with some of the best musicians in metal music and the ones that we listened to when we were kids.

We are not saying that this is something special what we are doing, but this means a lot to us and basically we are doing this for ourselves and our closest friends first but also for all the metal fans around the world who we hope are going to like our new music. Anybody can do it nowadays and we will support everyone no matter what.

If there wasn’t this COVID pandemic this would have never happened since all of these guys would have been on tour or busy with their own bands. We were playing our whole lives together and we don’t wanna say that the bands we played in before were not good or were good let music fans decide and let our music speak for itself but now this is a completely different story.

When you are getting older you get a better understanding about everything including music and here we are today playing with people who we listen to basically our whole lives.”

Benighted Release New Benefit Single “Serve To Deserve”

Benighted have released a new single titled “Serve To Deserve.” The song can be purchased on Bandcamp with proceeds set to go towards Rock N’Eat in Lyon, France.

Julien Truchan commented:

“We are very proud to unleash this very special track that we recorded to support our dear friends from the Rock N’Eat venue in Lyon! The owners of the venue are brothers who are part of the underground scene for more than 20 years and they have put all of their guts in this great venue where so many amazing bands already played like Aborted, Suffocation, Entombed, Der Weg Einer Freiheit, and many others!

Of course because of Covid 19, things are very difficult for them and we want to do everything we can to help them because they FUCKING DESERVE IT! So pls, my friends, we invite you to download this new brutal track and donate what you can to keep the underground alive !!! Thank you for this ! Love you all!”

Benighted Vocalist Julien Truchan Tests Positive For COVID-19, Band Stream New Album “Obscene Repressed”

Benighted’s Julien Truchan has tested positive for COVID-19. The singer contracted the disease while volunteering at a medical facility.

The band commented:

“…This morning we got the sad news that our vocalist Julien Truchan has been tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Unfortunately he contracted the virus during his volunteer work in a Covid medical department. We wish him strength and good recovery !”

In other news, the group are also streaming their new album “Obscene Repressed” in full. That effort will be released tomorrow (April 10). Drummer Kevin Paradis said the following about that:

“It’s with a lot of pride and excitement that we share this album with you! We can’t wait to have some feedback on our work, and I hope our music will bring you some brutal hours during these difficult times! As drummer of the band since their last EP, I have tried to bring some lightening fast blast beat and double bass drum, some groovy beats, intricate fills and polyrythms, but all of this with a punk spirit mandatory to Benighted Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore spirit!

Anyway, I’ve found in these new songs some of the best guitars riffs I ever had to drum on, and I hope you will like them as much as I do, not to mention the unique vocals of our dear Julien. Let’s wish him a good recovery!”

Benighted Premiere “Nails” Music Video

Benighted have premiered a NSFW video for their new song “Nails.” This track is from the band’s new album “Obscene Repressed,“ which will be released April 10.

The group commented:

“We are very proud to unleash our third track, taken from ‘Obscene Repressed,’ in the most disturbing video we have ever made! With ‘Nails,’ discover what happens when a psychotic boy faces oedipal issues with his mother and gets paranoid about his dad being responsible for his facial deformity…

Kick Your Eyes did a great job again with this new creepy music video about the story of Michael. We want to thank all the amazing people who worked for this video, especially Ni colas Delpierre, François Le Goazigo and Roswell! Of course also this incredible casting:

Young Michael : Jorick
Adult Michael : Cyril Van Zandijcke
Dad : Abdé Maziane
Mom : Cecile Rossi

Special thanks to Laurie Muah (special effects) and Pauline Dissais (make-up)
Enjoy it, sickos! And please share it everywhere!”
