Act Of Denial (Soilwork, Testament, Etc.) Premiere New Song “Puzzle Heart”

Bjorn “Speed” Strid (Soilwork, etc.), Voi Cox (Koziak, Victim), Luger (Benighted, Koziak), Steve DiGiorgio (Testament), Kerim “Krimh” Lechner (Septicflesh), and John Lönnmyr (The Night Flight Orchestra) have joined forces in a new project called Act Of Denial. The band are currently working on a new album, titled “Negative,” and their first single, “Puzzle Heart,” can be found below:

Voi and Luger commented:

“This is now just a continuation of what we have been doing all our lives and only now in our ‘older age’ we have done something serious. Of course when it comes to music, at least for us, we wanted to record an album with some of the best musicians in metal music and the ones that we listened to when we were kids.

We are not saying that this is something special what we are doing, but this means a lot to us and basically we are doing this for ourselves and our closest friends first but also for all the metal fans around the world who we hope are going to like our new music. Anybody can do it nowadays and we will support everyone no matter what.

If there wasn’t this COVID pandemic this would have never happened since all of these guys would have been on tour or busy with their own bands. We were playing our whole lives together and we don’t wanna say that the bands we played in before were not good or were good let music fans decide and let our music speak for itself but now this is a completely different story.

When you are getting older you get a better understanding about everything including music and here we are today playing with people who we listen to basically our whole lives.”

Devin Townsend Recruits Former Members Of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Decapitated, Etc. For Summer Tour

During a recent interview with MetalSucks, Devin Townsend revealed the artists that will be joining him during his summer touring. They include: guitarist Wes Hauch (ex-The Faceless/Black Crown Initiate), bassist Liam Wilson (Azusa, ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan), and drummer Kerim “Krimh” Lechner (Septicflesh, ex-Decapitated).

Townsend said the following:

“The next [touring] thing is Volume 2, which I’m starting with all these festivals — we’re doing Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Bloodstock, Tuska, Wacken, and Hellfest. And that is a different group of people, which is an amazing group of people. I basically did a poll online and said, ‘What do you want to hear?’ from the entire catalogue, Strapping included. For the Volume 2 thing, which I will then bring to North America later, it’s those songs, which is a shit load of Strapping, a shit load of DTP, all of the stuff that people want to hear.

For the summer, I’ve got a band — but it’s a four person band — and at this point it looks like it’ll have Wes Hauch, who played with me on 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise. He was in The Faceless and Glass Casket. Such a fuckin’ good guitar player, holy shit. And Krimh playing drums, who was with Septicflesh, Decapitated, and Behemoth.

Super strong player and he can blast with the same volume as he does with the groovy stuff. It looks like it’s gonna be Liam who used to be in Dillinger Escape Plan playing bass. Really great guys, super confident players. Good vibes.

I want that tour — the Volume 2 thing — to be completely different. I want it to be open to the audience and to say, ‘What do you want to hear?’ There’s 25 records full of shit. There’s Strapping, there’s Terria, there’s Ziltoid, there’s DTP, there’s DTB, there’s all this shit. Tell me what you want me to play, and I’ll play that. So, that’s the tour after this one that’s coming up.”

The group commented:

“We are honored to have signed with one of the worlds leading record labels, Nuclear Blast Records. Septicflesh has always been a hard working band looking, to the future while keeping traditional elements and utilizing a modern and dark feel to our music.

We needed someone who would understand this and we are happy to have found our new home with Nuclear Blast. In the meantime, our latest album ‘Codex Omega‘ continues to gain ground worldwide. We will keep touring in support of it and prepare for the conquests set before us!”

Aborted Premiere Lyric Video For New Song “TerrorVision” Feat. Septicflesh’s Seth Siro Anton

Aborted have premiered a lyric video for their new song “TerrorVision” feat. Septicflesh’s Seth Siro Anton. This is the title track of the band’s new album, which will be released on September 21.

Sven de Caluwe commented:

“This song is the title track of the record first off and has Seth Siro Anton from Septicflesh as guest vocalist. Basically we chose it as a single because ti has the dark, dirty vicious atmosphere the album has, it’s fast but also has hooks and a heavy part. Lyrically it captures the whole concept of the album, which is let’s say looking at the media these days as if it were an ancient ‘evil’ entity in an 80’s horror film that is manipulating the world as puppets.

The album and song talk about a lot of things that have been happening in the last couple of years where the public opinion is clearly being molded and manipulated, there have been studies in communication showing that 55% of communication is non verbal impact, 38% is verbal communication and the actual message is only important for about 7% of it.

I know retarded figures that don’t mean much by themselves if not telling us that people don’t give a fuck about what you’re selling, as long as you package it right and the media/politicians know this all too well. The rise of ISIS has a lot to thank to the media as well, bigotry, racism all tools used by media to remove the eye on the actual problems for the human race as a whole and our planet.

It’s not so death metal in itself, but it’s all packaged in our depraved little aborted sauce of dark humour and gross thesaurus bullshit language while containing a pretty strong message! Enjoy!”
