Elder commented:

“Probably it comes as no great surprise that we are forced to reschedule our North American tour dates in May to the next available – and hopefully safe – timeframe of November/December. We’re sorry to keep you waiting for so long about an update on this, but coordinating with all parties to rebook a tour under the currently hectic circumstances took a little longer than planned. Scrambling to replan a tour also meant that some plans had to change with availabilities; as such we were forced to cancel our Dallas and Cleveland shows (to be rescheduled later this year!).

Any tickets purchased for rescheduled concerts will remain valid until the new date; if you can’t/don’t want to hold onto your ticket, you can of course get a refund from the point of purchase. We’re aware that a lot of people are falling on hard times right now, but if you can help your local promoters by holding onto a ticket, it’s a small contribution to keep our scene going during this shutdown.

Two small silver linings: Bask is still able to join us on these new dates, and our Boston show has been moved to the larger Middle East downstairs (more tickets are available). Boston folks please note! Due to the venue change, your tickets will be refunded automatically, you’ll have to grab new ones for the new show. Sorry about that.

We are absolutely heartbroken to disappoint fans, especially at the culmination of several years’ work on a new record, but sadly we don’t have any alternative given the present circumstances. This is our passion, our lives and our livelihoods, and yet we’re far from having it the worst of all affected by COVID-19. We hope that all of you will stay safe and healthy and help others to do the same so that we can see you in the fall.

Regarding our upcoming shows in June in Europe, so far both Roskilde Festival and Hellfest Open Air Festival have been cancelled and there is much uncertainty about how the situation here will look in the summer. We’re actively in contact with our show promoters and will continue to update you on the developments.

Thank you all for your understanding and support!”

Despite this, Elder’s new album “Omens” will still be released on April 24.

Elder To Release New Album “Omens” In April, Announce North American Tour

Elder have announced that their new album “Omens” will be released on April 24. With this news, the band have also announced dates for a spring North American tour with Bask.

Elder commented:

“‘Omens‘ is our most complete work to date: a set of songs that express the breadth of the band’s collective influences. Integrating the floating, textured jams of last year’s ‘The Gold & Silver Sessions‘ into our evolving heavy progressive sound has yielded another expansion of the Elder sound. We’re very proud of this record and can’t wait to share it with you all!”
