Khemmis Cancel West Coast Tour

Khemmis have officially cancelled their headlining West Coast tour. The band commented:

“As you have likely surmised, we must cancel our West Coast headlining tour dates this summer. The Opeth/Mastodon trek this spring is an incredible opportunity for us, and we are thrilled to join these two legendary bands on the road. Given the proximity of those dates with the rescheduled headlining ones and the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between time with our families and time on the road, these headlining shows just aren’t feasible this summer. Thank y’all for understanding, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at all of our upcoming dates with the mighty Opeth and Mastodon.”

Blackie Lawless commented:

“With enormous frustration, I’m forced to announce W.A.S.P. must postpone the 2022 European leg of the 40th-anniversary world tour. This hideous pandemic that’s stripped people of their freedom and lives, that’s caused countless artists to cancel or postpone shows for years, once again has reared its vicious head to claim us… again! For years we’ve worked really hard to make this tour our celebration, for not only for the fans, but for all of us involved. I’m sad, mad, tired and pissed off, but I’ll quote from the great W.E. Henley’s poem ‘Invictus’: ‘My head is bloody, but unbowed.’ That’s what I want from all of you, to go beyond this place of pain and loss, and NEVER bow to this THING! Our U.S. dates will continue as planned — BUT — WE WILL see you all next year Europe!!!”

Decapitated’s Waclaw “Vogg” Kieltyka commented:

“I still remember it like it was yesterday… 22 years ago, our first ever UK tour, straight after Winds of Creation was released. We’d been touring with Lock up and Corporation 187. That was the first time we played for fans in England, and they called us the “helicopter band” because we would windmill for the entire set. It was a really great time for us, and we received a warm welcome in every town.

That’s why I am grateful that Decapitated can come back to the UK/IRL, which are almost like our second homes when we talk about the metal scene. We can’t wait to smash some venues we haven’t played for years, like The Underworld in London, which is legendary, plus visiting completely new places like Bridgend, Milton Keynes and Hull, where we have never played before. Prepare for more songs from our old catalogue, Nihility and Winds of Creation. Prepare for death metal madness, and let’s celebrate it all together like we always did. See you soon friends!”
