System Of A Down Postpone Los Angeles Shows After Serj Tankian Tests Positive For COVID-19

System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the band have been forced to postpone their Los Angeles, CA shows with Korn, Helmet, and Russian Circles. The concerts will now take place at Banc Of California Stadium on February 4-5.

The band said the following:

“It is with great regret that we must reschedule our Los Angeles performances to February 4th and 5th, 2022. Despite multiple precautionary measures, Serj has unfortunately tested positive for COVID. We’re sorry to disappoint our amazing fans with this last minute news, as we could not wait to finally play for you.

However, the health of our band, crew, venue staff and all of our fans is our top priority. All tickets will be honored the rescheduled dates. Refund availability will be sent to all ticket buyers via email.”

Tankian also issued his own statement:

“After having 3 really fun shows, I got back to LA with flu-like symptoms. I am shocked that it could even be Covid as I am not just vaccinated but also incredibly careful. I am so sorry to have to push these dates yet again especially to those who made sacrifices to be here from out of town. Touring is not something I intend to continue doing down the line so these handful of shows have meant the world to me. Thank you for your love and understanding. Peace Serj”

Avatar Postpone Remaining U.S. Dates After Johannes Eckerström Tests Positive For COVID-19

Avatar’s Johannes Eckerström has tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, the band’s remaining U.S. dates have been postponed.

The group issued the following statement:

“We are very sorry to announce that the remaining dates of the Going Hunting tour are postponed. Johannes has tested positive for COVID-19. He is fully vaccinated, feels fine under the circumstances, and expects a full recovery shortly. Sadly, this will not be in time to make the remaining shows happen. We are already working on solutions to make the dates at a later time. We are looking into routing around our dates in January at Shiprocked, so please stay tuned for that!

We made a point to not see friends, fans, or anyone outside our bubble on this run in order to minimize the risks. We thank everyone who helped make this tour as safe as possible. It’s amazing that we made it this far and that was a team effort.

Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Trivium and Hatebreed have postponed the Canadian dates on their “Metal Tour Of The Year.” The following shows have been impacted:

09/30 Toronto, ON – Budweiser Stage
10/01 Laval, QC – Place Bell
10/02 Quebec City, QC – Centre Videotron

The dates will be rescheduled for 2022, but Hatebreed will no longer be performing. Megadeth commented:

“The final three shows of the Metal Tour of the Year in Toronto, Laval and Quebec City will unfortunately be postponed to Spring 2022 due to restrictions in the Quebec province and international logistical issues. In This Moment, Black Veil Brides, & DED Postpone Immediate Shows Due To Members Of The Bands Testing Positive For COVID-19

In This Moment, Black Veil Brides, and DED have postponed their September 24 show in Lubbock, TX and their September 25 show in Oklahoma City, OK. Both dates were scrapped after members of the bands, including Black Veil Brides’ Christian “CC” Coma, tested positive for COVID-19.

Black Veil Brides issued the following statement:

“The In This Moment/Black Veil Brides/Ded show scheduled for today, September 24 in Lubbock, TX at The Pavilion and Saturday, September 25 in Oklahoma City at The Criterion have been postponed due to several members of bands on tour testing positive for COVID-19. The tour plans to pick back up in Denver on Monday Sep 27. If you have tickets to either of these shows please stand by for more info.

We will be performing a special acoustic storytellers’ set without CC when the tour resumes in Denver on September 27th and next week. The change is due to CC testing positive for COVID-19. The rest of the BVB band and crew have tested negative multiple times and are completely healthy. The entire BVB tour crew is remaining in isolation out of an abundance of caution until the tour resumes on Monday. The current plan is to move forward with the acoustic performances and VIP Meet & Greets until such time that CC can rejoin the tour and return to the full production live shows.”

“Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we have sadly made the decision to postpone our upcoming European tour dates that were set to take place in November 2021. Varying restrictions across mainland Europe have ultimately put a stop to our touring plans and have left us with no choice. The UK dates will remain unaffected by this and will be going ahead as planned.

The new European dates are still to be confirmed as our schedule for next year continues to fill up, however we are looking at all available options to bring a headline show to you in 2022! Refunds are of course available from your point of purchase should you want one.

The continuing surge of COVID cases due to the Delta variant should be of concern to all of us.
