John 5 Says News Regarding Rob Zombie’s New Album Is Coming “Very Soon”

During a recent interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF, John 5 offered an update on Rob Zombie’s new album. The guitarist said the following:

“You will be seeing something soon. That’s all I say. Very, very, very soon. It’s coming very soon… We’re excited. I’m more excited than anyone, that’s for sure.”

Ace Frehley Releases Cover Of The Beatles’ “I’m Down” Featuring John 5

Ace Frehley (ex-KISS) has released a cover of The Beatles’ “I’m Down.” This track features John 5 (Rob Zombie, etc.) and it will appear on his new covers album “Origins Vol. 2,” which is set to be released on September 18. Frehley said the following about the cover:

“Everyone was telling me, ‘You gotta do a Beatles song, Ace. You didn’t do one on the first record.’ The early Beatles inspired me more than the later records, because they were more raw and more rock and roll. I decided to tackle ‘I’m Down’ and I thought it came out great. John 5 did a great solo on the song, and then we riffed out at the end.”

John 5 To Release “Live Invasion” In September

John 5 (Rob Zombie, ex-Marilyn Manson) will be digitally releasing a new live set, titled “Live Invasion,” on September 4. Physical copies of the effort will also be available in October. John 5 commented:

Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee has guested on a new remix of Tyla Yaweh and Post Malone’s “Tommy Lee.” You can find a video for that below. Notably, the new version of the track also features additional guitar and bass from John 5 (Rob Zombie, etc.).

Tyla commented:

“I’m excited to be releasing records with my idols. I first had Billie Joe Armstrong clear a sample for me and hop in my last video with Wiz Khalifa. Now I’ve got a legendary track with this bad ass Rockstar Tommy Lee and my brother Post Malone. This track is so special to me!!!

John 5 Teams Up With Medicom Toy For “Be@rbrick” Figure

John 5 (Rob Zombie, etc.) has teamed up with Medicom Toy to create his own “John 5 100% + 400% Be@rbrick” set. The set will come with a figure of the guitarist as well as a personally signed autograph card and an exclusive Jim Dunlop guitar pick. A few hundred sets will be released outside of Japan on March 12 and can be pre-ordered HERE. John 5 commented:

Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler & Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith To Be Honored At Adopt The Arts’ Eighth Annual Benefit Concert

Adopt The Arts, the organization co-founded by Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses, etc.), have announced that their 2020 benefit concert will be held at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA on May 12. The show will launch this year’s “Sound And Vision Awards,” which will honor Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and visual artist Shepard Fairey. In addition to Sorum, the event will also feature performances from Slash (Guns N’ Roses), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Dave Kushner (ex-Velvet Revolver), John 5 (Rob Zombie, etc.), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), and producer Andrew Watt (Post Malone, Ozzy Osbourne). Sorum said the following:

“Doing these annual events for Adopt the Arts are always rewarding with so many great artists stepping in to help out. I’m very grateful for all of my musician and artist friends who I’ve met throughout my career that believe in this organization. I feel this year might be our best yet with the great Chad Smith and Geezer Butler along with the incredible Shepard Fairey as our honorees. This show is going to Rock!”

John 5 Working On New Live Album “Live Invasion”

During a recent interview with Sticks For Stones, John 5 (Rob Zombie, etc.) confirmed that he is working on a new live album titled “Live Invasion.” He said the following after being asked about his upcoming Australian shows:

“We are going to record the shows, because I’m working on a live record called ‘Live Invasion’. We’re going to do all the songs from ‘Invasion’ and record them, but you’re not going to hear just the songs from the latest album — you’ll hear a bunch of stuff. We do this really cool, long medley of, like, 60 riffs. It’s going to be a very special show, and people are going to be super-excited and really happy with how it turns out. We’re going to work really hard on it.”
