Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) Working On New Album

Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider has revealed that he is working on a follow-up to his Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed) produced metal album “For The Love Of Metal.“ That effort featured contributions from Mark Morton (Lamb Of God), Howard Jones (Light The Torch, ex-Killswitch Engage), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy, ex-The Agonist), Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), Nick Bellmore (Toxic Holocaust), and Charlie Bellmore (Kingdom Of Sorrow). Snider said the following about his next release:

“Here’s some actual breaking news for you…it looks like I’m heading back into the studio to record my next solo album. We are already writing material. Same band and Jamey Jasta producing. You (and the others reading this tweet) are the first to know.”

Dee Snider Recording Christmas Song With Tarja Turunen

During an interview on the “Behind The Vinyl” podcast, Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) revealed that he has teamed up Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish) to record a Christmas song. The frontman said the following about that:

“I wrote this song for my wife many years ago. You guys may or may not know that Celine Dion recorded a Christmas song I wrote [called ‘God Bless Us Everyone’]. I wrote it as a gift for my wife; I never wrote it for commercial purposes. And I can’t — it’s just out of my range to sing it. But long story short, I decided to do my own rendition of it, and I asked Tarja to sing it as a duet with me, ’cause it’s got some really high parts in it. So Jeff Pilson from DOKKEN and FOREIGNER, he’s producing it. And we’re just finishing the tracks right now, so we’re gonna start doing the vocals. That’ll come out later this year.”

“‘Prove Me Wrong’ are words that I’ve thought in my head since the day I began rocking. I had a monster chip on my shoulder and dared the world to knock it off… nobody ever could. At this point in my career, I thought I’d let everybody in on what has kept be going all these many years. Prove me wrong!”

The singer also added the following about “For The Love Of Metal Live!”:

“The response to ‘For The Love Of Metal’ was so strong, and my new band so good, that I wanted to capture ‘Dee Snider’ for the new millennium. All of my other live concert releases are all about the past. And while my past is represented here, it is presented along with my new music, played by my new band and is very much ‘in the now.’ The included interviews give insight into my world, my journey and my evolution since I started nearly 50 years ago.”

Dee Snider Teases New Single “Prove Me Wrong”

Dee Snider Is Already Working On His Second Novel

During an appearance on AXS TV’s “At Home And Social With…”, Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) revealed that he has been spending time writing for his non-musical projects. This includes a second novel and new movie scripts.

Snider commented:

“Last year, I decided — I told my management I’m taking 2020 off. And they were, like, ‘What? You’re not gonna book any shows?’ And I said, ‘No shows for 2020. And I just wanna focus on my writing.’ ‘Cause I’ve been developing my writing for decades now. And, oddly, nobody had shows in 2020 [due to the coronavirus pandemic]. And being stuck here in our house in Belize, all I do is write all day. So it’s been an awful situation that had a silver lining.”

He also added:

“I’ve been writing scripts for decades now, and now I’ve moved into writing prose. I wrote my first novel, which I just finished — a fictional novel. And that’s being shopped right now. I just started my second novel. And then I’ve got a couple of movie scripts I’m working on. I’m gonna be directing a couple of movies that are delayed now because of the whole COVID thing. So I’ve got a lot of interesting, non-rock and roll projects going on. And the good thing is I get to just sit and focus on them, which is the upside.”
