At The Gates Share New Live Videos For “The Burning Darkness” & “The Scar”

At The Gates have shared new live videos for their songs “The Burning Darkness” and “The Scar.” The clips were filmed during the band’s set at the 2019 Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, NET.

The group commented:

“We are super excited to finally being able to go on a European tour supporting our latest album ‘The Nightmare Of Being‘. Adding to the excitement is of course the fact that founding guitar player Anders Björler is back in the fold. With the fantastic reception we got at Damnation Festival last weekend it feels like a really great time to be in At The Gates.

These two videos were recorded live during our ‘Roadburn Festival‘ performance, as part of my curation, a couple of years back. ‘The Burning Darkness‘ is one of the cornerstones in our career for me personally. And having Costin’s [Chioreanu] great video art as a backdrop for that song was just amazing…Very happy with how this came out! For ‘The Scar‘, also a personal favourite from our early career, Costin has shot a captivating video that really catches the vibe of the track. Here you can also hear the fantastic Jo Quail Quartet playing together with us!”

At The Gates Reunite With Guitarist Anders Björler

At The Gates have reunited with original guitarist Anders Björler. He will be replacing Jonas Stålhammar, who was fired from the band amid sexual misconduct allegations.

Vocalist Tomas Lindberg commented:

“It is with great pleasure we welcome Anders Björler, one of the founding members, back into the band. We are excited to tell you that we are already starting the work on the follow up to ‘The Nightmare of Being,’ with the same line up that wrote ‘Terminal Spirit Disease,’ ‘Slaughter of the Soul’ and ‘At War with reality.’ Anders first show back in the band will be Damnation Fest in the UK in November, and he will join us on the European tour together with In Flames later this year. Great Times! It really feels like a second rebirth of the band, and we are looking forward to this new chapter!”

Björler added:

“It feels like coming home for sure. I have been missing the guys of course, but also playing the guitar, writing music and the artistic creativity in general. I’ve been watching from the sidelines for a number of years, and I’ve been very proud of what they have created in my absence. I am really looking forward to writing a new album and getting back to playing live shows again…”

Watch At The Gates Perform With The Haunted Guitarist Patrik Jensen At Wacken Open Air Festival

At The Gates Share Animated Video For “Garden Of Cyrus”

At The Gates have shared an animated video for their song “Garden Of Cyrus.“ That track is from the band’s latest album “The Nightmare Of Being.“

Tomas Lindberg commented:

“For our latest video, ‘Garden Of Cyrus‘, we have once again chosen to work with our long-time partner Costin Chioreanu. And I think it is safe to say that this time he has truly outdone himself! It is a different song, at least in death metal terms, and of course it needed a different idea for the video.

Once again, we let Costin do his own interpretation of the music and the lyrics, and he has taken us on a real psychedelic journey with this one. I think this is the song on our latest album ‘The Nightmare Of Being‘ that raised the most eyebrows in the metal community. And I am proud that we as a band can still surprise people, adding another dimension to our sound, without losing the essence of what At The Gates is.”

In Flames Premiere New Song “The Great Deceiver”, Announce European/UK Tour

In Flames have premiered a new song titled “The Great Deceiver.” You can check that out below:

The band commented:

“‘The Great Deceiver‘ was born out of frustration, basically a reaction to false flags but since then it has grown to represent several meanings. There’s a line that says ‘Bend the truth to fit your opinion’ and I feel that speaks a lot to the narrative happening online, between people, and nations etc. today. We are more a part now than ever before yet it’s easier to communicate than in any other time in history.”
