Rescheduled Dates Revealed For Devastation On The Nation Tour Feat. Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Etc.

The dates have officially been rescheduled for the Devastation On The Nation Tour. As previously reported, that trek will feature Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant.

Devastation On The Nation and Metal Festival Tours founder Daniel DeFonce commented:

“We were pretty upset when we found out that the President issued a travel ban from Europe to the United States. We knew there was no way around it. We thought about having the bands fly here before the travel ban came into affect, but with more and more states/cities putting a cap on concerts, gatherings, etc, we knew that shows would have ended up being canceled. Within 24 hours, we heard back from all five bands on the tour about rescheduling it to February/March of 2021 and all five bands were in. From there, I went back to all the promoters/venues and was able to do the same exact route and have the same venues for the tour. It was an incredible feeling when this happened. So here we are, same lineup, same route, same venues but it’s happening February 11th – March 14th of 2021. We hope to see you all at these shows in 2021! Stay safe everyone.”

Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Etc. Tour Postponed

This year’s Devastation On The Nation Tour, which features Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant, has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The trek will now take place in 2021 with the same lineup.

The following statement was issued:

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are numerous states and cities on the Devastation On The Nation Tour that are putting bans on gatherings anywhere between 100-1000 people. On top of that, the President of the United States of America has put a travel ban in place for anyone coming from Europe to America for the next 30 days which starts Friday.

Three out of the five bands on this tour are from Europe which are Rotting Christ, Borknagar, and Wolfheart. They were scheduled to fly here on March 18th. Unfortunately, as you can see, our hands are tied and we have no other choice than to postpone the Devastation On The Nation Tour.

The tour will now be rescheduled to February 11th – March 14th, 2021 and will have the same route in place. The tour will still feature Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant.

To everyone who has purchased tickets already. If you would like a refund, you are able to get one by contacting the company you purchased it from. If you would like to hold onto your current ticket, it will be honored at the rescheduled date. We hope many of you will keep your tickets and join us in February/March of 2021.

Please stay tuned for our next announcement which will come very soon”

Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, & Imperial Triumphant Set For 2020 Devastation On The Nation Tour

Rotting Christ, Borknagar, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant have been confirmed for the 2020 Devastation On The Nation Tour. That trek will run from March 19 to April 19, with exact dates set to be revealed on December 3. Tour founder Daniel DeFonce commented:

“I couldn’t be more excited about this tour. Every year we try create the most interesting, unique, extreme package that we possibly can and this year is no exception. From top to bottom this lineup is completely unreal and this is definitely not a show to be missed. Thank you all for your support for this tour over the years. We’ll see you out there!”

Borknagar Premiere “Voices” Video

Borknagar have premiered a new video for their new song “Voices.” This track is from the band’s new album “True North,” which was released today (September 27).

Lars A. Nedland commented:

“‘Voices’ is a song cut from a different cloth. It was made in one sitting, it was created backwards, and it came to life in a creative frenzy where it felt like it forced itself into existence rather than being consciously written. All the vocals were crafted over a single keyboard note and a simple clicktrack, and the song as it appears on the album is almost frighteningly close to the original demo recording, including many of the original demo vocal takes — though the music is further developed and masterfully enhanced by the eminent musicianship of my fellow Borknamen.

Thematically speaking, ‘Voices’ is both an elegy and an introspective celebration of freedom. It’s a musical rendering of longing and a directional push towards breaking the shackles of limitation. A lifetime of contemplation distilled into five minutes of music.

I had images appearing in my mind as I was writing the music, so naturally those images had to come to life as a film to complement it. I have been directing for many years, so I took on the job of piecing everything together myself, in collaboration with Alex Olsson and the production company RedinkFrame. This is how the visual side of ‘Voices’ was born. Shot on Alexa with a wide assortment of lenses (including my favourite optical tool, Lensbaby) at 25, 50 and 200 fps, the result came in closer to my vision than I ever imagined possible. This is what voices look like. This is how I imagine their echoes linger in us.”

Borknagar Premiere “Up North” Video

Borknagar have premiered a new video for their new song “Up North.” This track is from the band’s new album “True North,” which will be released on September 27.

Øystein G. Brun commented:

“‘Up North’ being the brainchild of I.C.S. Vortex, we gave his longtime friend Costin Chioreanu the full artistic freedom to make a video for the song. The only requirement from the band’s side was that we wanted visual representation and empowerment of the lyrics. Over seasonal changes, the lyrics deal with the circle of life, to constancy of energy in the universe and the fact that we are all stardust that momentary comes together to be you, me and everybody else on this vast and wondrous planet.

We are truly impressed by Costin’s work! The way the visuals play around with the lyrical themes is a stroke of genius. This is art in the true sense of the word, where hard work, passion, heart and soul has made this a glorious piece of captivatinge eye-candy. We love it!”

Chioreanu added:

“‘Up North’ stole my heart from the very first listen. It’s probably the best song I ever worked with, both in terms of music and lyrics. It was so strange, when I started to read the lyrics, it seemed like were written by somebody studying my latest life experiences. Not only that — many years ago a native American shaman recommended me to follow the North Star. I guess, with ‘Up North’ I got even closer!”
