Doro Pesch Offers Update On New Album: “It’s Like 80% Done”

During a recent interview with Metal Rules, Doro Pesch offered an update on her new album. According to her, the effort is “like 80 percent done.”

Pesch said the following:

“The new record is almost done. It’s like 80% done, and there are awesome songs. There are anthems, fast songs, and some really soulful songs. So, I think that 80% of the record is already done. I mean, 80% of the songwriting is done, and we have recorded lots of stuff. It will be out sometime later next year.”

She continued when asked if it will have a similar style to “Forever Warriors, Forever United”:

“Yeah, but it’s probably not a double album. The next year is my 40th anniversary as an artist. And, of course, we want to do something special, but it will be a single album.”

Doro Shares Music Video For “In Heaven Mix” Of “Raise Your Fist In The Air”

Doro has premiered a new video for a new “In Heaven Mix” of her song “Raise Your Fist In The Air.” The singer said the following about the pop-leaning version of the track:

“This new version of ‘Raise Your Fist In The Air’ will surprise you for sure. The idea of the [ZDF music show ‘Music Impossible’] was to perform one of my songs in the style of another artist. And that was the amazing German pop star Mike Singer. So I re-imagined ‘Raise Your Fist In The Air’ in a soulful pop arrangement. Mike did a nice metal version of one of his songs. Then the audience decided the winner, and I won ☺️ It was incredibly difficult to find the right song for this format. Making a metal anthem sound pop yet cool was even harder. A real balancing act, which I think we managed very well.”

She also added the following about “Triumph And Agony Live” as a whole:

“It’s one of my favorite records we’ve ever done! It includes some of our big classic anthems like ‘All We Are’, ‘Für Immer’ and ‘I Rule The Ruins’ as well as fan favorites like ‘Metal Tango’, ‘Three Minute Warning’, ‘Kiss Of Death’ and ‘East Meets West’, not to forget headbanging album opener ‘Touch Of Evil’. I’m super excited to let the fans hear and see it!

It was always my dream to play the ‘Triumph And Agony’ album in its entirety live. The order of the tracks is different from the original album, but we’re playing all ten songs in new, powerful versions. The first time we did it was at Sweden Rock followed by a big tour in the USA and Spain, and more large festival shows like Graspop and Norway Rock. It was fantastic. There was a killer atmosphere!”
