Ace Frehley, Accept, High On Fire, Power Trip, Etc. Set For 2019 Foamhenge Festival

The lineup has been revealed for the 2019 Foamhenge festival. The event will take place at the Karbach Brewing Company in Houston, Texas on November 10 and it will feature Ace Frehley, Accept, High On Fire, Power Trip, the Pat Travers Band, and Narcotic Wasteland.

High On Fire Digitally Release “Bat Salad” EP

High On Fire have officially released their “Bat Salad” EP in digital outlets. The effort was previously only available on 12” vinyl as part of this year’s Record Store Day. In addition to the title track, the EP also includes covers of Celtic Frost‘s “Into The Crypts of Rays” and Bad Brains‘ “Don’t Bother Me.“

Drummer Des Kensel Exits High On Fire

Des Kensel has announced his departure from High On Fire. The drummer said he is leaving to focus on “new opportunities and spending time with [his] family.”

Here’s Kensel’s full statement:

“As a founding member of High on Fire, I feel blessed to have spent the last 21 years traveling around the world pursuing my childhood dream to write and play music. After eight albums, countless tours, and a Grammy win, I am very thankful for what we have been able to accomplish as a band.

Being a full time professional musician can have its challenges. One gets through those challenges with patience, hard work and perseverance. After much consideration, it is time for me to announce that I will no longer be performing with High on Fire. I will now be focusing on new opportunities and spending time with my family.

I would like to sincerely thank all of our fans for your support throughout the years. Without you, none of this would have been possible.

Lastly, I would like to wish my band-mates the best of luck in the future.”

The Original Misfits Added To 2019 Psycho Las Vegas

The Original Misfits have been added to the 2019 Psycho Las Vegas festival. They will be replacing Megadeth, who cancelled most of their 2019 dates due to Dave Mustaine’s throat cancer diagnosis. The event will be held at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV on August 16-18 and the updated daily lineups can be found below.

August 16: Electric Wizard, High On Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Graveyard, The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, Perturbator, Bad Religion, Fu Manchu, Cold Cave, YOB, En Minor, Goatwhore, Nothing, Glassjaw, Devil Master, Ilsa, Hangman’s Chair, Candy, Led Zeppelin II, Electric Citizen, Spindrift, LA Witch, and Royal Thunder.

“Two Minutes To Late Night” will also be present at the event and Andrew W.K. has been recruited for the closing ceremony.

On top of that, Corrosion of Conformity, Lucifer, Danava, ASG, Primitive Man, Idle Hands, Howling Giant, Thrown Into Exile, Motorbabe, Yakuza, Monophonics, Mother Mercury, and DJ Painkiller will all be performing at the festival’s pre-party event, which will take place at Daylight Beach Club on August 15.

High On Fire Perform Without Drummer Des Kensel

According to The PRP, High On Fire performed without drummer Des Kensel during their show in Portland, OR last night (May 14). It is unknown why he was absent, but Nick Parks (Gaytheist) was brought in to handle drumming duties for the set. High On Fire are also performing at the Tonic Lounge in Portland, OR tonight (May 15), so it will be interesting to see if Kensel is still absent.

The first set of bands have been announced for the 2019 Levitation festival. The event will take place in Austin, TX on November 7-10 and it will feature the following:
