Igorrr Announce New Lineup

Igorrr have parted ways with vocalists Laurent Lunoir and Laure Le Prunenec. JB Le Bail and Aphrodite Patoulidou will be taking their places. Furthermore, guitarist Martyn Clement has since joined the band as well.

The group issued the following statement:

“Few updates to share with you ! We are working hard for all the summer shows at the moment! Covid didn’t help us a lot, to say the least, but this led us to very positive changes in the band :

Laurent decided to not get vaccinated, according to his personal beliefs. Even if we disagree with him, we respect his decision of course, however this has some consequences, regarding his ability to travel with us mainly, so, to be part of the line-up for the future. To say it shortly, Laurent is not a part of the project anymore.

In the meantime, Laure informed us, after this weird “off” period in our artistic journey that she wanted more time to focus on her private life and didn’t show up at the rehearsals. As well, we fully support her.

We are of course sad to see a page of Igorrr to be over, and we wish them the best for the future, but this led us to the awesome news : we are welcoming 3 new incredible people in the band: first, the greek soprano Aphrodite Patoulidou and JB Le Bail as our new vocalists, and finally Martyn Clement as our guitar player.

It is, as challenging as exciting for us, to present to our audience this new live performance, where we’ll play many songs from our last album “Spirituality and Distortion“, plus, of course, some good ol’ Igorrr‘s tunes. Can’t wait to see you, and thanks for your support all those years 🤘🏼”

Hellfest organizers commented:

“Hellbangers,

What can we say except that we are proud (and excited) to finally unveil the long-awaited line up of our anniversary edition! Keeping such a line up as a secret for several weeks has been no easy task, especially in the last few days…

It’s been more than 16 months since our work rhythm was turned upside down by the arrival of this virus, since the live music industry was extinguished. Despite this, our confidence has never been affected and we have kept working with a positive mindset.

The frustration of two years without a festival has led us to dream even bigger about our reunion! In 2022, we are offering a new and unique format spread over 10 days! Never done before, this formula will, without a doubt, remain in the history of so-called “extreme” music! Twice as historic, because this formula is meant to exist only in 2022 and will not happen again in the years to come.

After a first weekend from 17 to 19th June 2022, we double the fun with an additional weekend from 23rd to 26th June! A real marathon that will see no less than 350 artists on 6 stages!

As usual, the festival does not deviate from its principles: you will see artists capable of performing in stadiums, with artists who are usually playing in smaller venues, and for some even in pub caves. Punk, Heavy, Black, Hardcore, Death, Stoner, Pagan, Power, we have done our best to put together what we believe to be the “edition of the century”.

No need to list the program in detail as you are not, and for the second year, headbanging at the festival right now. You can find out all this by yourself, at home or with your friends, enjoying our virtual edition “Hellfest From Home“! (More information over here : fromhome.hellfest.fr)

This exceptional edition is also an opportunity for us to thank the pass holders who have been waiting for more than 2 years. Your loyalty and trust have kept us going and we do not have enough words to thank you. It seemed fair to us that you should access the ticket sale 24 hours before the public sale in order for you to obtain your ticket for sure.

We are aware that some of you, for professional, family or simply financial reasons, will not be able to attend this XXL edition. By going through (and only through!) our partner TICKETSWAP (please stop Viagogo and others…), you will be able to resell your pass for the weekend you are the least interested in, and thus make one more happy fan!

For all the others who will have the chance to live these 10 days of anthology with us, we promise that you will remember our reunion! As a bonus, we might even make you a nice “FINISHER” t-shirt so that this moment will remain engraved forever in your memories. Once in a lifetime celebration!

Last but not least, we could not finish without thanking all those who have supported us during these last months. Volunteers, intermittents, sponsors, service providers, media partners, people from Clisson, we are all eager to see you again and to live with you this future adventure, which promises to be historic!

Stay Strong. Stay Safe.

Igorrr Premiere “Downgrade Desert” Video

Igorrr have premiered a new video for their song “Downgrade Desert.” This track is from their latest album “Spirituality And Distortion.” Gautier Serre commented:

“After the crazy ‘Opus Brain‘ video in 2017, Fabian Lüscher, his amazing crew and me, decided to do it again, but this time to shoot this magnificent video for the track Downgrade Desert. Intense shooting, crazy pictures, I hope you will enjoy the clip as much as we suffered doing it. Of course, the real star here is the camel.”

Igorrr Premiere New Song “Camel Dancefloor”

Igorrr have premiered a new song titled “Camel Dancefloor.” This track is from the band’s new album “Spirituality And Distortion,” which will be released on March 27.

Gautier Serre commented:

“On an album, there is always a track that you are more addicted to. ‘Camel Dancefloor‘ is this one track that I always come and listen to it by necessity, very regularly.

This acoustic guitar loop you find almost all the way long on this track is something which I got completely obsessed with – I dreamed about it – I was playing it every day. I’m not sure how the brain works, but this melody has something that worked on me.

As a synesthetic person, this sound brings a very beautiful Brown/Châtain/Orange color to my mind, in an unusual clear and strong manner. This has a very strong Arabic vibe in it, it was awesome to be able to underline it even more with Antony Miranda playing this very special guitar, and Timba Harris again to make it sound even more Arabic and specific like it’s coming straight from a camel mind.

To be perfectly honest, I’m sure that if a camel would have a human similar music sensibility and a taste for extreme music, ‘Camel Dancefloor‘ would perfectly be the soundtrack of his mind. At this point, it’s perfectly logical for me that this track has to end with an excessively heavy metal riffing.”

Igorrr Premiere New Video For “Parpaing“ Feat. Cannibal Corpse’s George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher

Igorrr have premiered a new video for their new song “Parpaing.“ This track features Cannibal Corpse’s George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher and it will appear on the band’s new album “Spirituality And Distortion” (out March 27).

Iggorrr’s Gautier Serre commented:

“We are so honored to welcome the final boss of death metal: George Fisher, to sing on one of the most brutal Igorrr tracks we have ever made.

I’ve been a huge fan of George since the legendary albums “Gallery of Suicide” and “Bloodthirst” from Cannibal Corpse which had a pretty serious influence on my music.

His participation makes a complete sense to me and to this track: who’s got a better voice than George Fisher’s voice and could fit better on chiptune 8 bit music? Heaviness versus its opposite, I found on this track the perfect match, the perfect balance.”

Igorrr Premiere “Very Noise” Video, Reveal Details For New Album “Spirituality And Distortion”

Igorrr have premiered a new video for their new song “Very Noise.” This track is from the band’s new album “Spirituality And Distortion,” which will be released on March 27.

“Spirituality And Distortion” Track Listing:

01. “Downgrade Desert”
02. “Nervous Waltz”
03. “Very Noise”
04. “Hollow Tree”
05. “Camel Dancefloor”
06. “Parpaing”
07. “Musette Maximum”
08. “Himalaya Massive Ritual”
09. “Lost In Introspection”
10. “Overweight Poesy”
11. “Paranoid Bulldozer Italiano”
12. “Barocco Satani”
13. “Polyphonic Rust”
14. “Kung-Fu Chèvre”

The record features a number of collaborators including Cannibal Corpse’s George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, who guests on “Paraping.” Igorrr mastermind Gautier Serre said the following about working with Fisher:

“We had the honor to welcome my personal favorite musical hero on this album: George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher of Cannibal Corpse. He screams on the track ‘Parpaing‘, and his legendary voice brings the heaviness this track deserved. George is like the final boss of death metal.

Like on a video game you have the final boss who is the strongest, George is the best in death metal singing. Due to the extreme heaviness and violence of his voice, I found it very much coherent to contrast it with a cheap tune of 8bit music which is the least heavy music on earth. The contrast is beautiful to my ears.”

Other artists that contributed to the album include: Timba Harris (violins), Mike Leon (bass), Matt Lebofsky (pianos), Mehdi Haddab (oud), Pierre Mussi (accordian), Fotini Kokkala (kanun), and Benjamin Bardiaux (harpsichord).
