Parkway Drive Cancel Australian Tour With Hatebreed & Every Time I Die

Parkway Drive have officially cancelled their Australian tour with Hatebreed and Every Time I Die. The trek was unable to move forward due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Parkway Drive commented:

“It’s with a heavy heart that we have to announce our ‘Viva The Underdogs Australian Revolution‘ this July is cancelled. As venue restrictions, travel restrictions and government limitations on mass gatherings are still in place, the massive arena shows we had planned cannot go ahead in their current form. We would have loved to bring our full production show to Australia, but unfortunately this is not viable.

Furthermore, our international friends in Hatebreed and Every Time I Die are also not allowed into the country, so we have made the regretful decision to pull the pin. The safety of our fans and delivering the full Parkway Drive experience is of utmost importance to us but we are confident we will see you all in 2022!

Tickets can be refunded from the point of purchase. Ticket holders to the cancelled Australian tour will also be eligible for a 20% discount on Parkway Drive merchandise through parkwaydrivemerch.com with a dedicated discount code being sent to all fans.

Keep safe and look after each other,
Jeff, Luke, Jia, Ben and Winston“

Parkway Drive Postpone European Tour With Hatebreed & Crystal Lake

Parkway Drive have postponed their European tour with Hatebreed and Crystal Lake once again due to the coronavirus pandemic. The trek is now expected to take place in 2022.

Parkway Drive said the following:

“As much as we all hoped that things would take a turn for the better this spring, it’s now obvious that the Viva The Underdogs European Revolution 2021 tour will not be able to take place.

With many (inter)national restrictions and guidelines in place, due to the fluid situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it makes any kind of international touring impossible. For these obvious reasons we would need to postpone this tour. Already purchased tickets will remain valid and we will be announcing the new dates in due time. In case of any questions, please contact your local promoter.

We remain positive, happy and excited for the future and seeing you all again sometime soon. Keep safe and look after each other,

Jeff, Luke, Jia, Ben and Winston“

Parkway Drive Writing New Album

Since Parkway Drive are unable to tour right now due to the coronavirus pandemic, the band have decided to begin the writing process for their new album. Winston McCall confirmed the news during an interview with Rock Sound.

McCall said the following:

“We’ve started writing, which is awesome. It’s not something that happens fast for us. Basically, our calendar is messed up. We were gonna take a whole bunch of time off next year to start writing anyway, and now our [touring plans for] this year [have] been wiped out. So, let’s just flip the years around — that kind of thing — so we’ve started writing now.

And I’m not sure that’s gonna mean that anything will be out sooner — I probably doubt it — but it definitely makes it where we’re [able to stay] active. Which is really, really cool — it’s a challenge, but it’s fun. It’s nice to know that there’s a lot of gas in the tank, which is really, really cool. At this initial stage, you always hope the passion is still there. You just never know.”

“When we write an album and we record an album, we really do put everything we have into one [project until there is] nothing left. We just hope it comes back. Because we always walk out, and it’s, like, ‘I can’t imagine ever writing another song [like that]. That’s all the ideas we have at this point in time.’ And you hope the spark comes back. And it’s been fun. It’s been fun because — lots of sparks.”

He also added:

“Generally, even when we do have time off to write music, we still have — especially with the way we operate — yeah, it’s writing time, but we’re also planning for the next three tours and we’re also working on production and we’re also working on management, and this and that, so there’s always another wheel turning.

This is literally a situation where it’s just, like, fucking clamps put on everything — we can’t move. The only thing you can move is your mind and creating music, and it’s been liberating to not have that other parts of your mind occupied. So it’s fun.”
