Winston McCall said the following about recording their music in German:

“This was hands down one of the most unique projects we’ve undertaken. The idea of taking our songs and interpreting them through another language was a massive challenge, but considering the amount of time, love and support that has been shown to us over the years we wanted to commit to doing the project with full integrity.

The result is every effort being made to translate the meaning, spirit, and conviction of these songs in a language that is not our own. We hope the result helps to strengthen the connection this music creates. We offer you these songs out of respect and our heartfelt thanks for all the times you have sung them with us in their original forms. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed the process of creating them.”

Parkway Drive Donate More Than $30,000 To Australia Fire Relief Efforts

Parkway Drive have donated $50,000 AUD (approximately $34,000) to help out with wildfire relief efforts in Australia. The band have also set up a GoFundMe campaign to get their fans involved as well. The group said the following:

“In light of the devastating bushfires we’re currently experiencing in Australia we’ve set up a Go Fund Me and donated $50,000. We are calling on all PWD and metal fans alike around the world to help out in any way they can, even 50c will help. All proceeds will go to Australian Red Cross and WIRES Wildlife Rescue. These organisations are doing an amazing job and if you could find the time to donate, please do. Stay safe out there. Winston, Luke, Jeff, Ben, Jia.”

The Warriors Premiere New Video For “The Painful Truth” Feat. Parkway Drive’s Winston McCall

The Warriors have premiered a new video for their new song “The Painful Truth.” This track features Parkway Drive’s Winston McCall and it will appear on the band’s new album “Monomyth“ (out December 13).

The Warriors commented:

“‘The Painful Truth‘ was the first song written and recorded for ‘Monomyth‘. We wanted to throw all convention out the window and push the boundaries of our creativity in every respect, while still honoring the ‘old’ Warriors sound. In a sense, this song was the foundation upon which the rest of the album was built.

In this early stage of the writing process, we had every intention of recording and releasing this music ourselves, free of any external influence or expectations. We’re so grateful that Pure Noise ultimately raised their hand to help us with this release. They gave us all the freedom we needed to make this happen.”

“Lyrically, the song addresses the need to burn our egos to the ground and to rise up with a full heart—to unshackle ourselves and to have the courage to fulfill our dreams. Climb that mountain, read that book, write that song, reconnect. Exercise patience, compassion, civility and love. Ultimately, it comes down to the old aphorism, ‘Know Thyself.’ Reject the ‘beautiful lie’. Suffer the ‘painful truth’ in order to make personal transformation. Never forget how powerful you really are.”
