Parkway Drive Premiere “Darker Still” Video

Parkway Drive have premiered a new video for the title track of their new album “Darker Still.” That effort will be released on September 9. Winston McCall commented:

“Love. Time. Death. The great defining elements that make up our existence. This song begins with the simplest of human sounds and represents these elements as the musical journey grows to reach its souring crescendo before facing the inevitable conclusion of its journey. The night grows dark… darker still.”

Parkway Drive Premiere “The Greatest Fear” Music Video

Parkway Drive have premiered a new video for their new song “The Greatest Fear.” This track is from the band’s new album “Darker Still,” which will be released on September 9.

Winston McCall said the following about the song:

“The greatest fear, the one we all share; this song is about the unifying force we all must face —death. The goal was to create a song that saw death not as something that separates, but something that connects us all on our paths. Musically, we wanted to create a song that did this concept justice. It’s heavy, it’s epic and when it stomps it leaves an impact.”

He also added the following about the album:

“When Parkway originally started out, we all were trying to push ourselves to do more than we possibly could. What you hear on ‘Darker Still’ is the final fulfillment of our ability to learn and grow catching up with the imagination that we have always had.”

“Darker Still” Track Listing:

01. “Ground Zero”
02. “Like Napalm”
03. “Glitch”
04. “The Greatest Fear”
05. “Darker Still”
06. “Imperial Heretic”
07. “If A God Can Bleed”
08. “Soul Bleach”
09. “Stranger”
10. “Land Of The Lost”
11. “From The Heart Of The Darkness”

Parkway Drive Premiere “Glitch” Music Video

Parkway Drive have premiered a new video for their new song “Glitch.” The band commented:

“Parkway Drive have always walked the line of balancing the light and the dark, and ‘Glitch‘ is no exception. Sonically, we aimed to create a dark, heavy, and unnerving journey while still crafting a melody that burrows its way into your mind. Lyrically, the song deals with the phenomenon of night terrors and sleep paralysis. We all know the power our minds possess, but true terror manifests when your mind and all its fears takes physical control of your body. The glitch in your brain, where nightmares and reality cross.”

Parkway Drive Share Cryptic Teasers

It looks like we may be getting new music from Parkway Drive in the near future. The band have been sharing cryptic teasers on social media, which you can see below:

Parkway Drive Further Comment On Their Mental Health Break: “We Are Here To Stay”

As previously reported, Parkway Drive recently cancelled their North American tour in an effort to focus on their mental health. Now, the group have shared a new update on their current state, saying that they are “here to say.”

The band said the following:

“The last few years have been tough on everyone. Having toured non-stop for 17 years, the shut down was a major challenge. While we set our minds on other creative paths, we also gained a greater perspective of the impact this band has had on us. Mental health is an ever present issue within our society and we are no exception. As touring started back up, we found ourselves at a crossroads. Continue down the same path, risk more damage and more than likely destroy the band and ourselves, or take the time needed to do the work on ourselves and heal. We are doing the work and know that ultimately, this was the correct choice. Thank you again for your understanding. At the end of the day, we are all just humans doing the best we can. Be kind, and please speak to someone if you need help. For the record, we are here to stay.”

Parkway Drive Cancel North American Tour

Parkway Drive have cancelled their spring North American tour with Hatebreed, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Stick To Your Guns. The group said “the relentless nature of being in this band has given [them] very little time to reflect on who [they] are as individuals” and that they want to use “this time for the growth that is needed.”

The band issued the following statement:

“Dear friends, family and fans,

This is something we never thought we would be writing, but we not only all believe you deserve an explanation, but we feel the need to communicate and connect with true honesty. Firstly, this is hard, please know we are fully aware that another canceled tour is not what you want to see from us, and for any expectations or plans we have messed with, we are truly sorry.

We have been doing this thing called Parkway Drive for nearly 20 years. We started as kids and never looked back. It has been a wild ride, but over those years, the relentless nature of being in this band has given us very little time to reflect on who we are as individuals, who we want to be and the toll it is taking on ourselves and our friendships. It has always been 100% commitment or nothing. We feel the limit has been reached and we don’t want to fuck this up. The same devotion that we have put into everything before, we are now putting into processing what these 20 years have done to us. With this, we aim to grow and return stronger for what is yet to come. We know what we need to do and we humbly ask for your respect while we take this time for the growth that is needed. It has been said that it is better to burn out than to fade away. We do not want either, so know that our return will burn brighter than the past.

Jeff, Luke, Ben, Jia and Winston.

p.s. We are still focused and committed to our European tour, so that will go ahead as planned in Sep/Oct 2022.”
