Anthrax’s Scott Ian commented:

“Zakk [Wylde] has been a friend and an inspiration to me as a guitar player, songwriter, and beard grower since we met in 1988. We’ve had the privilege to share festival stages with Zakk and BLS around the world, and it’s always been a head-banging mutual admiration society between the two bands. Now we get to share the stage every night on what is easily going to be the heaviest tour of 2022 — the ultimate pounding one-two combination of bands. Oh, and did I mention we’ve got fucking Hatebreed with us as our special guests? Holy crap, it’s going to be the night of 1000 crushing riffs. I can’t wait to see you all on the road.”

Black Label Society’s Zakk Wylde continued:

“ANTHRAX is one of The BESTEST LEGENDARY METAL/THRASH BANDS of ALL TIME — I have been buds with SCOTTY, CHARLIE, FRANKIE & JOEY for over 30 years and they are some of the BESTEST people you will meet. JON is The BESTEST new addition ANTHRAX could ask for — HATEBREED are The BESTEST HARDCORE/EXTREME METAL band & BESTEST friends w/ANTHRAX & BLACK LABEL SOCIETY. The ANTHRAX + BLACK LABEL SOCIETY & HATEBREED TOUR is going to be one of the BESTEST TOURS EVER!!”

Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta added:

“Listen up! It’s gonna be a hot summer! Anthrax, BLS, and Hatebreed will be on your case, in your face, and ready to kick you and your father back in place! See you in the pit.”

Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) & Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age) To Guest On New Ozzy Osbourne Album

Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) and Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age) are set to appear on Ozzy Osbourne’s upcoming album. They join previously announced guests: Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society), Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Andrew Watt (Post Malone, Miley Cyrus), and the late Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters).

Smith said the following about the record during an appearance on Chris Jericho‘s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast:

“We made another [Ozzy album], and it’s getting mastered tomorrow. We’ve got Robert Trujillo playing on some songs, who’s been in Ozzy‘s band. Duff‘s on a couple again. Me and Andrew are doing it.

Tony Iommi and Ozzy have never collaborated outside of Black Sabbath. Tony sent us a bunch of riffs and we took what we thought was the best of ’em, which was fucking great. So Andy‘s on the bass doing fucking great — the bass on the song is amazing. And Tony sent us the riffs — files; he’s in England — and we played to it. It’s fucking got everything. It’s got all the stuff that you would want. Ozzy loves it. And so he’s on that track.

Then Eric Clapton plays a fucking wah-wah Cream-type solo. We’re, like, ‘Eric, can you solo on this song? Wah-wah, please. Eric, what do you think about this, with the wah-wah?’ Because that’s his fucking thing. And so he’s soloing all over this other track.

Then Jeff Beck is on two songs. We tried to get Jimmy Page, we tried to get the holy trinity, but I don’t think Page plays anymore too much, unfortunately. But Mike McCready‘s on a track. Josh Homme, my neighbor from Queens, solos on a track. And then Zakk Wylde is on the record as well, all over it. So it’s like if you’re a guitar player, [it’s] pretty fucking good.”
