Hellfest organizers commented:

“Hellbangers,

What can we say except that we are proud (and excited) to finally unveil the long-awaited line up of our anniversary edition! Keeping such a line up as a secret for several weeks has been no easy task, especially in the last few days…

It’s been more than 16 months since our work rhythm was turned upside down by the arrival of this virus, since the live music industry was extinguished. Despite this, our confidence has never been affected and we have kept working with a positive mindset.

The frustration of two years without a festival has led us to dream even bigger about our reunion! In 2022, we are offering a new and unique format spread over 10 days! Never done before, this formula will, without a doubt, remain in the history of so-called “extreme” music! Twice as historic, because this formula is meant to exist only in 2022 and will not happen again in the years to come.

After a first weekend from 17 to 19th June 2022, we double the fun with an additional weekend from 23rd to 26th June! A real marathon that will see no less than 350 artists on 6 stages!

As usual, the festival does not deviate from its principles: you will see artists capable of performing in stadiums, with artists who are usually playing in smaller venues, and for some even in pub caves. Punk, Heavy, Black, Hardcore, Death, Stoner, Pagan, Power, we have done our best to put together what we believe to be the “edition of the century”.

No need to list the program in detail as you are not, and for the second year, headbanging at the festival right now. You can find out all this by yourself, at home or with your friends, enjoying our virtual edition “Hellfest From Home“! (More information over here : fromhome.hellfest.fr)

This exceptional edition is also an opportunity for us to thank the pass holders who have been waiting for more than 2 years. Your loyalty and trust have kept us going and we do not have enough words to thank you. It seemed fair to us that you should access the ticket sale 24 hours before the public sale in order for you to obtain your ticket for sure.

We are aware that some of you, for professional, family or simply financial reasons, will not be able to attend this XXL edition. By going through (and only through!) our partner TICKETSWAP (please stop Viagogo and others…), you will be able to resell your pass for the weekend you are the least interested in, and thus make one more happy fan!

For all the others who will have the chance to live these 10 days of anthology with us, we promise that you will remember our reunion! As a bonus, we might even make you a nice “FINISHER” t-shirt so that this moment will remain engraved forever in your memories. Once in a lifetime celebration!

Last but not least, we could not finish without thanking all those who have supported us during these last months. Volunteers, intermittents, sponsors, service providers, media partners, people from Clisson, we are all eager to see you again and to live with you this future adventure, which promises to be historic!

Stay Strong. Stay Safe.

While She Sleeps Gave Up Their Chart Eligibility So Can They Could Employ Their Road Crew To Distribute New Album

While She Sleeps were able to rehire their road crew by having them assist with the distribution of the physical copies of their new album “Sleeps Society.“ The decision made the effort ineligible for the charts, but the group said it was “unofficially” No. 4 on the UK album chart.

The band said the following:

“At the beginning of this album we made the decision to independently distribute the vinyl and CD copies of it. This enabled us to rehire our touring crew, support our local business and give opportunities directly to the people around us who needed it, in a year where our industry and culture had been hit hard.

This decision meant our sales would not be counted as ‘chart eligible’.

We started the Sleeps Society to create a sustainable future for our band, the people around us, our crew, families and collectively this felt more important.

The reaction to the album so far has been completely incredible and although our sales figures aren’t being counted as ‘official’, we are so proud to tell you that ‘unofficially’ we are Number Four in the UK album charts today.

This would be our highest-ever chart position. Your sales directly support our band, crew & the future of Sleeps. Thank you all so much.”

While She Sleeps Premiere Music Video For New Song “Nervous” Featuring Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil

While She Sleeps have premiered a new video for their new song “Nervous.” This track features Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil and it will appear on the band’s new album “Sleeps Society,” which is set to be released on April 16.

Guitarist Sean Long commented:

“The song ‘Nervous‘ is one the band has been talking about ever since its first demo. It’s completely infected us since the start and we all knew instantly that something really special had happened. I would go so far as to say it’s the single most important song I’ve ever written in my life.

It’s born from experiencing the pain and suffering generated by acute anxiety but also finding a way out from that, which whilst in such a dark and terrifying place felt like the biggest pipe dream imaginable. I felt like if I didn’t write this song then someone else would have. It feels like it needed to be manifested into this world ASAP.

I truly believe it’s going to resonate with people on an extremely personal, deep and meaningful level because I feel like it came from a place beyond what we may call ourselves and I feel the song is much bigger than our band.

I’d like ‘Nervous‘ to be viewed as more of a spiritual request rather than just a song to enjoy. I’m talking about a particular emotion in this song but the idea is transferable to any negative or troublesome feeling. It’s about accepting your emotions, fears, pains, anxiety, depression – not only accepting them but owning them and becoming one with them completely. It’s about being proud of all our emotions.

The song is literally telling you to BE nervous, be scared and be in pain. By this I mean a lot of our pain comes from the idea that there’s me on the one hand and the pain on the other. So when the pain arrives this “me” is somehow trying to get away from said pain. When we really think this through with clarity we inevitably see its a futile endeavour.

The moment we realise this, we can stop fighting and running away and we can begin the healing process by feeling the emotions as if we wanted them to be there in the first place. Once you stop fighting and pushing the feelings away, you realise that most of, if not all of, the pain was caused by this attempt to split ourselves in two.

Most of the pain was caused by the fear of the pain itself and the attempt to get away from it. It can actually be a good thing to feel these emotions fully and experience that journey of acceptance. If we just sit a little longer with the pain, fully go into the dark, feeling it with every cell of our being, there is a chance of something miraculous to occur for the individual. What do you have to lose? This is what ‘Nervous‘ is about.”

Neil added:

“I’ve been a big fan of what WSS do, and how they do it, for a long time. When Mat and the boys approached me to be a part of their new record it was a no-brainer and ‘Nervous‘ is a towering statement of intent for their new era. The way WSS have chosen to promote and release this album, and the new model they are creating, excites me for the future and I am delighted to be a part of it.”

While She Sleeps Premiere “You Are All You Need” Video

While She Sleeps have premiered a new video for their new song “You Are All You Need.“ This track is from the band’s new album “Sleeps Society,” which will be released on April 16.

Sean Long commented:

“We somehow managed to inject enough personal inspiration from each member for it to completely embody ‘the Sleeps sound’ with ease. We are always trying to express a certain kind of emotion or internal insight and sometimes you really hit the nail on the head, expressing it how you imagined, and other times you miss it completely. Well, this time we hit it dead on, with no room for speculation. The song says it how it is and reminds us to stop looking outwards for approval and validation. The video is a color explosion from start to finish and, with the current state of this dull, bleak world, we think it’s going to be the color everyone needs to illuminate their spirits, even if it’s only for three minutes.”

In other news, While She Sleeps have also revealed the track listing for “Sleeps Society”:

01. “Enlightenment(?)”
02. “You Are All You Need”
03. “Systematic”
04. “Nervous” (feat. Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil)

08. “Division Street”
09. “Sleeps Society”
10. “Call Of The Void” (feat. Sleeps Society)
11. “Dn3 3ht”

While She Sleeps Announce New Album “Sleeps Society”, Premiere Video For The Title Track

While She Sleeps have announced that they will be releasing their new album “Sleeps Society“ on April 16, 2021. You can find a video for the title track below:

With this news, the band have also launched a “Sleeps Society” fan community via Patreon. The group said the following about that:

“After 14 years as a band & in the ever-changing climate that is the music industry, we are embarking on a new chapter of our life as While She Sleeps.

Our goal is to create a sustainable model for artists & creatives, to break from the traditional industry mold by building and developing a true interdependence between the band & fans.

With the future of live performances uncertain, the Sleeps Society will enable a secure existence for WSS and gives us the opportunity to stay connected with our fanbase, developing new ways to provide for our supporters and fill the void left without live music.

In these uncertain times, this is the difference between life & death for the future of WSS. We aren’t prepared to be another band forced to give up simply be-cause the system isn’t designed to support the artist.

The idea behind the society was created after over a decade’s experience of this rollercoaster ride that is the music industry. Having overcome mountains of hardship & financial debt, it feels important to share what we’ve learned along the way with those who are drawn to a similar path as ours.

This model will provide a new route for upcoming artists and bands similar to us, using our knowledge and guidance to help achieve a realistic career in the creative industries.

The society will ask a membership fee, ranging in different tiers of support. These contributions directly fund the creation and survival of WSS. The cost will be repaid to the fans with a plethora of informative, exciting & engaging videos, as well as special events to get involved with and many exclusives to members.

We’ll be sharing full album guitar & drum play-throughs, a tutorial series for songwriting, studio production, vocal techniques, art & branding, self-management, videography & much more. There’ll be an in-depth look into making the forthcoming album & live streamed studio sessions where members can help make decisions in the writing stages of songs.

Members will get early access to tour tickets, exclusive merchandise, warehouse meet-ups, events & secret ‘members only’ shows. And that’s just scratching the surface of what we’ll be offering members through the Society.

Our aim is to deliver a ‘too good to be true’ level of rewards for the prices we are asking our supporters to pay, using our individual skills to develop and create entertaining and informative videos, tutorials, ideas and more for our members. This is us sharing our knowledge and experience in the hope that other artists can take this model and use it for their own.

With the monthly support of our fans, the band will be able to break free from the traditional music industry method of ‘cash advances’, where artists are essentially borrowing large sums of money and giving up the rights to their songs, only to spend the years that follow in debt which oftentimes becomes insurmountable and crippling.

The Sleeps Society ensures a solid future for WSS & creates a new model of survival for artists and bands alike. We will be delivering the highest level of fan involvement and fostering a symbiotic relationship as the Sleeps Society becomes an integral part of Sleeps’ existence. – While She Sleeps“

While She Sleeps Stream Cover Of Tears For Fears’ “Mad World”

While She Sleeps are streaming their cover of Tears For Fears‘ “Mad World.“ The band previously recorded the track during a performance for BBC Radio 1‘s “Future Sounds With Annie Mac” last year.
