Godla commented:

“By keeping the set times between 5 and 15 minutes for each artist, it allows me to not only keep things moving, but mix it up in ways that conventional festivals simply can’t. Every single hour will contain big names and emerging artists right next to each other.

I’m trying to look at the bright side of our current situation, and not only make this an entertaining way to see the artists you love flex their creativity in new ways, but hope this event acts as a place of discovery for every viewer out there.

Finding a band or artist to fall in love with is the mark of a great festival to me, and it’s my honor to share the work of these amazing individuals I curated because I’m passionate about them. I’ve been in touch with all of them every step of the way, and some even managed to throw me a few surprises.

I’m honored and humbled to have all of them part of this, they truly went above and beyond to showcase their craft for the Slay At Home fest, and I can’t wait for the world to see something really special come to life this weekend.”

Money raised from the event will benefit MusiCares and Global Giving.

The experience of a live concert is irreplaceable, but my aim with Slay At Home is to provide every person in the world an experience they haven’t seen yet, right from their own devices. I’ve never been more proud to be part of the metal community and have so many great friends willing to join the fun, as we support two great organizations.”

Gargoyl (Revocation, Ayahuasca) Release Debut EP

Gargoyl, the band featuring Dave Davidson (Revocation), Luke Roberts (Ayahuasca), and Josh Park (Ayahuasca), have released their debut EP “Asomatous.” You can stream that below. Davidson commented:

“It was hard to choose the songs to put on this EP since Gargoyl has been evolving from the beginning, but I think these two tracks are a good representation of the diversity of our sound. The music is raw, emotional and hopefully thought-provoking, and we hope you enjoy this free EP and spread the gospel of Gargoyl as we prepare to finish up writing for our full-length record.”

Dave Davidson Discusses New Revocation Material & Upcoming Side Project

Revocation’s Dave Davidson was recently interviewed by Ghostcultmag.com, and discussed some of the new material the band have been working on. You read what he had to say about that and his upcoming side project with Berserk Lout (Ayahuasca) below.

Davidson on new Revocation material:

“We are writing new material right now. We got a lot of cool songs in the works. I’m really excited about the new material. We’ve definitely been on a trend of getting more and more death metal on each release, and I think it’s gonna continue on that path. This is probably going to be our most death metal album to date. It’s also super progressive though. It’s going to be like a mean, progressive death metal record, with some thrash elements thrown in. I’m stoked on it.”

He also added the following about his new side project:

“We wanted to use Virus as a base for our sound. From there it’s developed and morphed out into it’s own thing. Vocally it will be all singing, there’ll be no screaming. It sounds like a weird amalgamation of avant-garde influences like Virus, some cool hooky vocal melodies, like some parts remind me of Alice In Chains, some parts remind me of Faith No More.

The dude I’m working with, Lout, he’s a Canadian, he lives up in Toronto, he’s the guitar player for Ayahuasca. They’re an incredible metal, rock band, and it’s a real pleasure to work with him. He’s super talented, and yea, I think we have about seven songs written so far, so we need like three more to go and we’ll have a full length. I’m probably saying too much right now cause I have no idea when we’re gonna get other members, or thinkg about recording, but that’s been in the works…”
