Twelve Foot Ninja Premiere New Video For “Over And Out” Featuring Jinjer’s Tatiana Shmailyuk

Twelve Foot Ninja have premiered a new video for their latest single “Over And Out.” This track features Jinjer’s Tatiana Shmailyuk and it will appear on the band’s new album “Vengeance.” As previously reported, that effort will be released on October 15 alongside a graphic novel of the same name and a new “high fantasy” novel titled “The Wyvern And The Wolf.” Guitarist Stevic MacKay said the following about the clip:

“A man covered in cow shit wanders the Australian bush seeking clarity. Tortured by recurring dreams about having no face, meeting the ferryman in a Finnish swamp, old twitchy people with straw heads, vacuuming the forest, cradling a pike and squash playing goat people who spoil Christmas and drink everyone’s dregs…The only obvious thing to do is find a door Goblin to suck ‘dream gravy’ (aka Vegemite) off his fingers so he can teleport to a Ukrainian mechanical genie to blow his mind with Australian metaphors about being fucked in the head.”

Twelve Foot Ninja Premiere New Song “Over And Out” Featuring Jinjer’s Tatiana Shmailyuk

Twelve Foot Ninja have premiered a new song titled “Over And Out.” This track features Jinjer’s Tatiana Shmailyuk and it will appear on the band’s new album “Vengeance.” As previously reported, that effort will be released on October 15 alongside a graphic novel of the same name and a new “high fantasy” novel titled “The Wyvern And The Wolf.”

Twelve Foot Ninja’s Kin Etik commented:

“The song is an ode to the complicated relationship we have with our own mortality and how death can seem like the arms of a lover beckoning us to an early demise. The French first coined the phrase ‘l’appel du vide,’ which is the feeling of wondering what it would be like to jump in front of a truck or to jump off a cliff. It translates into English as the ‘call of the void.’ The phenomenon is actually a positive affirmation that by not answering the call you unequivocally choose life.”

He also commented on working with Shmailyuk:

“We wanted someone who could represent the lyric ‘the devil in my blood’ – both the darkness and the light. Tatiana embodies what we needed for this track perfectly so asking her to feature on it was a no brainer. Her band Jinjer and Twelve Foot Ninja have played together a number of times and we instantly connected the first time we met in the Ukraine capital Kyiv. We’ve since tom to respect Tatiana as a musician and as a human so we’re stoked she’s agreed to jump on this track.”

Shmailyuk added:

“When the TFN guys asked me to feature on one of their new tracks, I immediately said yes without even hearing it! The song and video were a lot of fun and very different from anything I’ve done with Jinjer… it’s a great pleasure to be an honorary member of the Twelve Foot Ninja clan now!”

Twelve Foot Ninja Announce New Album, Book, And Graphic Novel

Twelve Foot Ninja will be releasing a new album, titled “Vengeance,” on October 15. The effort will be released alongside a new “high fantasy” novel, titled “The Wyvern And The Wolf,” and a graphic novel, titled “Vengeance.“

The book was written by Nicholas Snelling and the following was said about it in a press release:

“Set in a grim and savage world, ‘The Wyvern And The Wolf tells the tale of an orphaned samurai boy named Kiyoshi who is adopted by the ruthless leader of a clan of ninja. Much more than a mere origin story, however, the novel is a tour de force in fantasy fiction and world-building, and represents a unique partnership with Snelling. Published by The Venn Gents, the novel can be pre-ordered now from www.twelvefootninja.com. The original story of the Twelve Foot Ninja was conceived by [guitarist, Stevic] MacKay and his partner Fiona Permezel. It was that concept which first inspired ‘The Wyvern and The Wolf.’”

The following was also added about the graphic novel:

“Also available now from the band’s website is the graphic novel ‘Vengeance,’ written by Mackay with artwork by George Evangelista. The graphic novel sees the band’s namesake, the Twelve Foot Ninja, journey through alternate dimensions to take on an evil alien entity.”

Guitarist Stevic Mackay commented:

“This is an exorcism of content that’s spent a decade in gestation. ‘Catharsis’ is close to what it feels like to finally share Kiyoshi’s story; and I guess respond to all questions pertaining to our name; All this time, so many have thought ‘Twelve Foot Ninja’ was tongue-in-cheek, when in actuality, the story’s genesis occurred a year before the formation of the band. I really hope our fans enjoy the vastness of what we’ve created, and we’re able to continue to surprise people with new methods of storytelling.”

In other news, the band have also shared the track listing for “Vengeance.” You can check that out below:

01. “Start The Fire”
02. “Long Way Home”
03. “Vengeance”
04. “IDK”
05. “Shock To The System”
06. “Gone”
07. “Culture War”
08. “Dead End”
09. “Over And Out”
10. “Tangled”

A new video for the record’s latest single,“Start The Fire,“ can be found below. Mackay said the following about that:

“‘Start The Fire‘ drew lyrical inspiration from Todd Phillips and Scott Silver’s portrayal of the Joker. When you start treating people according to broad prejudice, they’re left with little reason not to become what they’re supposedly guilty of already being. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The video concept revolves around the threat of total annihilation. The strung-up band is being injected with a copper-based enzyme that, when mixed with human blood, can be extracted to power up current collector fuel cells (purposed for reanimating Primordian bio-technology). The band’s performance is a shared, mutual delusion. It’s all pretty straight-forward, really.”

Twelve Foot Ninja Premiere New Song “Start The Fire”

Twelve Foot Ninja have premiered a new song titled “Start The Fire.” The track is expected to appear on the band’s upcoming album. Stevic Mackay commented:

“‘Start The Fire‘ drew lyrical inspiration from Todd Phillips and Scott Silver’s portrayal of the Joker. When you start treating people according to broad prejudice, they may see little reason not to become what they’re supposedly guilty of already being. It can be a self-fulfilling prophecy.”

Twelve Foot Ninja To Release New Single “Start The Fire” On Friday

Twelve Foot Ninja have announced that they will be releasing a new single, titled “Start The Fire,” this Friday (July 9). This news comes after the band released another single, titled “Long Way Home,” earlier this year.

Twelve Foot Ninja Debut “Long Way Home” Music Video Through Steve “Stevic” MacKay’s New Video Game

Twelve Foot Ninja’s Steve “Stevic” MacKay has released a new video game called “Brusnik’s Long Way Home.” You can play that HERE. Notably, after fans complete the game they are granted access to a music video for the band’s new song “Long Way Home.” If you don’t want to try the game, you can also watch the clip below:

MacKay commented:

“There’s nothing like a global pandemic to shake the Etch A Sketch. I decided to get addicted to caffeine and throw a year of my life at making a video game…And like chucking a bag of shrunken heads into a Hadron Collider; I’ve never done it before, had no reason to believe I could do it, and didn’t know what would happen if I did…But here we bloody are! We are here, aren’t we?

I assembled a gang of willing rogues to prepare this sacrifice for your enjoyment; in the hope you will be pleased and bless us with your financial support and encouragement to continue. There would be nothing funnier to me than Brusnik becoming a legit game franchise (replete with his own line of rat poison).

Huge thank you to Mathew Chalker who salvaged my code equivalent of when Seth Brundle accidentally merged with his Telepod in The Fly and was a putrid mess on the floor.

Now we have our little syndicate of misfits; help us level up by shouting us a beer; and by that I mean, putting the money that would buy a beer that just gets pissed out…Into something worthwhile, like a rad game.”

Twelve Foot Ninja Drummer Shane Russell’s Significant Other Battling Cancer, GoFundMe Launched

Jolene Anderson, the significant other of Twelve Foot Ninja drummer Shane Russell, is sadly battling cancer. You can help her out by donating via GoFundMe.

Jolene‘s sister Naomi commented:

“This is my sister Jolene. What should be an amazing time in her life with the new arrival of her second daughter Layla, has become nothing short of a nightmare we cannot awake from.

In 2018, unbeknown to her family and most friends, Jolene battled a silent fight with Breast Cancer, with the love and support of her partner Shane by her side. 2018 was a tough one for our family, and Jolene selflessly didn’t want to worry anyone as she underwent IVF egg preservation, breast surgery & radiation. During that time Jolene continued working full time and raising their 18 month old daughter, Chloe.

During 2019 Jolene did extensive tests to make sure her attempt for another child would be safe. She received the all clear and Layla was welcomed into the world one year later.

During her pregnancy she had worrying symptoms but they were passed off as pregnancy related. Jolene requested further investigation after the problems continued postpartum.

On 29th May 2020, Jolene was given the news no mother can bare to hear: she has Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer which has metastasised to her Liver. It’s a separate and unrelated cancer to her earlier breast cancer. But this time the cancer is inoperable, it’s incurable and it’s aggressive.

This cancer has a genetic mutation called BRAFV600E and is extremely rare, and prognosis is poor with an on average life expectancy of 2-5 years. Her beautiful girls may never remember their mother.”

“By keeping the set times between 5 and 15 minutes for each artist, it allows me to not only keep things moving, but mix it up in ways that conventional festivals simply can’t. Every single hour will contain big names and emerging artists right next to each other.

I’m trying to look at the bright side of our current situation, and not only make this an entertaining way to see the artists you love flex their creativity in new ways, but hope this event acts as a place of discovery for every viewer out there.

Finding a band or artist to fall in love with is the mark of a great festival to me, and it’s my honor to share the work of these amazing individuals I curated because I’m passionate about them. I’ve been in touch with all of them every step of the way, and some even managed to throw me a few surprises.

I’m honored and humbled to have all of them part of this, they truly went above and beyond to showcase their craft for the Slay At Home fest, and I can’t wait for the world to see something really special come to life this weekend.”

Money raised from the event will benefit MusiCares and Global Giving.

The experience of a live concert is irreplaceable, but my aim with Slay At Home is to provide every person in the world an experience they haven’t seen yet, right from their own devices. I’ve never been more proud to be part of the metal community and have so many great friends willing to join the fun, as we support two great organizations.”
