Reach NYC Release New Song “Last Surrender”

Reach NYC have released a new song titled “Last Surrender.” The following was said about the track in a press release:

“The song details singer Rene Mata‘s battle with depression, addiction, alcoholism, and the loss of loved ones. Most importantly, it’s about the battle of finding oneself through experiencing all of those things. Mata lost his dear friend Chester Bennington of Linkin Park back in 2017. Depression kicked in and after 25 years of being clean and sober, he relapsed. In recovery, they have a saying that it’s the only war you’re going to win by surrendering. This song is about reclaiming your life through surrender.”

Reach NYC Premiere New Song “Automatic” Featuring Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton

Reach NYC have premiered a new song titled “Automatic.“ This track features Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton and Reach NYC’s Rene Mata had the following to say about it:

“We delved into our ’90s vibe and love of Foo Fighters‘ The Colour and The Shape, At the Drive-In‘s Relationship and Command, and Jimmy Eat World‘s Clarity meets Queens of the Stone Age‘s Rated R. It’s all about Nick Cavagnaro‘s angular guitar attack and Dante Renzi‘s machine-gunned, syncopated grooves. Melodically, I went for a ‘driving fast in your car’ melody attack on the verses, a climb on the pre-chorus, and a sledgehammer on the choruses. We also have a tasty ripper guest solo from my buddy Mark Morton from Lamb of God. It definitely gives you GN’R-Slash-circa-Appetite-for-Destruction feels. Jay Baumgardner topped it off with a bombastic mix!”

Reach NYC Premiere New Video For “Back From The Dead” Featuring Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix

Reach NYC have premiered a new video for their latest single “Back From The Dead.” As previously reported, that track features Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix and it serves as the band’s first piece of new music since 2003.

Rene Mata commented:

“When I spoke to Boy Epic, the video director, for ‘Back From the Dead,’ I told him that I wanted the feeling of being lost alone intertwined with wanting to find happiness faith again. I told him the song was about depression feeling lost, and fighting to take your life back.

It was an affirmation to myself after losing my close friend Chester Bennington to suicide and thus found myself suffering from a deep depression afterwards myself. I told him I wanted the video to be about the song first and foremost. I wanted it to be visually stunning. I think he was right on target. I was blown away when I saw it.”

Shaddix added:

“This video for ‘Back From The Dead‘ really captures just how small and insignificant we can feel when we are faced with the reality of how big we let our demons become at points in our lives. We are not meant to suffer alone. It’s a great reminder. The visuals capture that sense of isolation perfectly.”
