The Armed Stream “Ultrapop” Remix Of Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum’s “Ketamine”

Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum, the band fronted by actor Michael C. Hall (“Dexter”, etc.), have released The Armed’s “Ultrapop” remix of “Ketamine.” You can check that out below. The track will appear on Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum’s “Ketamine Remixes” EP, which will be released on May 13.

The Armed’s Dan Greene commented:

“‘Ultrapop’ is more than a critically-acclaimed, game-changing, genre-defining album. It is a language. It is a tool set. It is its own vernacular. This adaptation of ‘Ketamine’ is an exercise in translation. And in the spirit of the dialect, the result is all things, at once. It is delicate and earnest. It is exhilarating. Terrifying. It is excessive and ruthless.”

Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum’s Peter Yanowitz added:

“We three are all big fans of The Armed and their album Ultrapop. It’s been on constant rotation since it came out a year ago. When we reached out to Dan Greene on Instagram, he was honest about how utterly mangled our song would get in the meat grinder of their immense creativity. We were prepared for something different, and boy did they exceed even our high expectations. For us it was a dream to have a band we admire so much collaborate on something we made. This is such an imaginative, explosive odyssey that they took ‘Ketamine’ on, so all we can do is sit back and tip our hats in awe.”

The Armed Premiere “All Futures” Live Video

The Armed have premiered a new live video for “All Futures.” The footage was captured during the band’s March 5 show at the El Club in Detroit, MI. Notably, that set featured guest guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens Of The Stone Age). The track appears on the band’s latest album “Ultrapop.”

Pupil Slicer Premiere Music Video For New Song “Thermal Runaway” Featuring The Armed’s Cara Drolshagen

Pupil Slicer have premiered a new song titled “Thermal Runaway.” This track features The Armed’s Cara Drolshagen and an official video for it can be found below:

Katie Davies commented:

“The idea behind the track was to capture the experience of being in a catastrophising cycle of anxiety and depression that keeps getting worse no matter what you do, through metaphors of thermal runaway that occurs in stars which leads to supernovas.”

“We are huge fans of The Armed and really love Cara‘s vocal work with them. I wrote the track with Cara in mind and approached her with the title and some general themes already established. She took the ball from there and laid down her vocal parts which established the fantastic core lyrical drive on the chorus which I then expanded.”

Drolshagen offered:

“It’s pretty incredible what you can do creatively now even being miles apart. We had such a great time collaborating on this song. Pupil Slicer were amazing to work with and really gave me the chance to mould my style with theirs in a really unique way.”

A digital single featuring “Thermal Runaway” will be released on February 3 and it will also include Nadja and Marble Girl’s remixes of “Wounds Upon My Skin.”

GoFundMe Launched For The Armed’s Clark Plaunt As He Undergoes Surgery For Possible Case Of Carcinoid Lung Cancer

The Armed’s Clark Plaunt is currently battling what is believed to be a possible case of carcinoid lung cancer. He underwent an operation for his illness earlier today (October 27) and a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help him out with medical bills.

The following statement was posted on GoFundMe:

“Hi, My Name is Dominic Kuza.

A group of us who care about our friend Clark Plaunt want to reach out to people who are close to him to help support his treatment and medical bills for this sudden medical emergency.

Unfortunately, Clark fell ill with what was thought to be a cold and developed into pneumonia. He went to urgent care to get a chest X-ray and was told to go to the hospital. After reaching the hospital they discovered that there was a complete blockage of his left bronchial passage. He then waited two days to be transferred by ambulance to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. After testing at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, their current thought process is possible Carcinoid Lung Cancer and may have to remove part of his left lung due to complications from the blockage.

Update 10-27: Procedure went well to remove and get air flowing to his left lung, but unfortunately he will require more procedures next week, moving in a good direction but still more work to go. Thank you everyone for the continued support

Clark has been one of my close friends for a few years now and I know he’d do anything to help anyone in a situation like this. Its important to all of us close to Clark that we show him the support he deserves, especially in a time like this.”
