Holy Roar Records founder Alex Fitzpatrick has been accused of rape, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and more. Some of the disturbing accusations can be found on Instagram and Twitter. In the wake of the allegations, various employees, including Employed To Serve‘s Justine Jones, and bands have left the label.
The former employees issued the following statement:
“We have spent the last 24 hours in horror of the allegations that have been made against Alex Fitzpatrick, the owner of Holy Roar.
The extremely serious allegations are against everything that myself, Sam, Wil and our bands – stand for.
We, the labels employees, are resigning from working with Holy Roar effective immediately.
We are sorry for the long silence, it was a lot for us to process with our bands and personally we found out the same time as the public.
Alex will be making his own statement in due course.
Justine, Sam & Wil.”
You can also find statements from multiple bands below:
“In light of the allegations about Alex Fitzpatrick, we have ended out relationship with him and Holy Roar as a label, effective immediately. We have zero tolerance for abusive behaviour and stand in solidarity with those that have come forward.”
“We have been made aware of serious allegations against Alex Fitzpatrick of Holy Roar Records. We stand with survivors and we always will. It takes so much courage to speak out, we are sending all of our support to those affected. We are currently figuring out our next steps, and will update this when we are able.”
“We’ve become aware of the serious allegations placed against Alex Fitzpatrick. Like the many other bands on our new label, we are beside ourselves. These stories are coming from members of our own DIY community. They deserve to be heard.
We demand to see restorative justice for those involved, and have called for a process of accountability from Alex. We will continue to have conversations as a band, and with other bands on the label about what we can do to collectively further this cause and stand in solidarity with survivors.”
“Palm Reader are aware of the recent allegations against Alex Fitzpatrick.
Abusive behaviour is not to be tolerated under any circumstances and is something we as a band and individuals take very seriously.
We are currently in conversation with our team on how to move forward.”
