Boundaries Premiere “Realize And Rebuild” Music Video

Boundaries have premiered a new video for their new song “Realize And Rebuild.” This track is from the band’s new album “Burying Brightness,” which will be released on October 14.

Matthew McDougal commented:

“Most of the record is about one person I sadly watched lose himself. On ‘Realize And Rebuild‘ I’m coming to terms with regretting how our relationship was and how to now move forward. It’s very easy to be like, ‘If only I knew what I know now, it could’ve been better.’ The song is about internally addressing the fact ‘wasted time is just wasted time.’

I could sit around and keep thinking about it, but I found solidarity on my own. I now understand the situation he was in, and I didn’t get it before. I was too young and too naive, addiction is a nightmare and it took him from me.

It’s too late to do anything for that relationship. Looking back I realize when he was calling at three in the morning to talk about nothing, it was his way to look for comfort, of reaching out. I can keep it in mind going forward while trying to not lose and let down more loved ones.”

Left To Suffer, The Last Ten Seconds Of Life, Etc. Drop Off Kentucky Irate Fest

More bands have decided to pull out of the upcoming Kentucky Irate Fest. Among them are: Left To Suffer, The Last Ten Seconds Of Life, Kaonashi, Born A New, Downswing, Boundaries, Summoning The Lich, Kingz & Thieves, The Behest Of Serpents, The Delirium Effect, Inferious, Fight From Within, and more. This news comes after Isolator, Artica, Belushi Speed Ball, Wake Up In Tsunami, etc. previously dropped off the event.

The cancellations came about due to buy-on practices, ticket selling quotas, and more. On top of that, Until The Dead Walk were also dropped from the festival and their tour with Filth after vocalist Ren Young was accused of rape by Sero\\tonin vocalist Melissa George. Young was reportedly an investor in the festival, so the troubling allegations are playing a role in the departures as well.

Several bands issued statements:

Left To Suffer:

“In light of recent events we feel like it’s in our best interest to back out of Kentucky Irate Fest. We are sorry to anyone who planned on coming out to see us. We promise we will be back and can’t wait to be back on the road this coming fall. Love you all ❤️”

The Last Ten Seconds Of Life:

“We will not be performing at Kentucky Irate Festival on 8/26 We will still be announcing the new line up next weekend”

Born A New:

“it’s time. we hate to do it, but unfortunately due to recent events and how it’s all unfolded over this past week, we’ve made the decision to also respectfully back out of Kentucky Irate Fest. we did everything within our control to try and make a born a new set happen, but this is for our best interest. we are deeply sorry to all who planned on hanging with us and catching our set. we promise to make it up to y’all, we will be back Louisville. we love y’all 💙”

Downswing:

“We will no longer be performing at Kentucky Irate Fest. Unfortunately this means we will have to cancel our surrounding tour dates as well due to logistical issues. We are so incredibly sorry to anyone that was looking forward to seeing us and to all of the bands/promoters playing or putting on the shows we had booked around this festival. We’re extremely disappointed and angered by the events we have learned about this past week. It’s a shame that something like a heavy music fest meant to unite a scene has done the complete opposite”

The Kentucky Irate Fest is currently scheduled to go on as planned at The MG Prime Entertainment Complex in Louisville, KY on August 26-28. Organizers issued the following statement:

“A lot of misinformation is out there about our festival. Below is a list of CONFIRMED bands to still be performing at Irate Festival (the agents and managers have confirmed their involvement still with our festival). Yes, our venue is behind a Marathon gas station, it is a 2 acre lot that has plenty of room for stages. Yes, we have stages and a full sound team. Yes, we have a high end backline being provided. Yes, we have the same food trucks. YES, our festival is still happening. New set times will be released in the coming days. Sorry for all the drama and issues surrounding our festival, but we promise you it will still be an amazing event!

Boundaries To Release New Album “Burying Brightness” In October, Premiere “Heaven’s Broken Heart” Music Video

Boundaries have signed a new deal with Periphery‘s 3DOT Recordings. The band’s new album, “Burying Brightness,” will be released through the label on October 14.

“Burying Brightness” Track Listing:

01. “It Begins To Speak”
02. “Your Own Murder”
03. “This Is What It’s Like”
04. “Heaven’s Broken Heart”
05. “No One Will Mourn You Here”
06. “Resent And Regret”
07. “Realize And Rebuild”
08. “My Body Is A Cage”
09. “–”
10. “It Was Built To Break”
11. “Burying Brightness”
12. “The Tower”

Frontman Matthew McDougal said the following about the album, which features backing vocals from drummer Tim Sullivan and bassist Nathan Calcagno:

“We utilized their voices for the first time. There’s definitely a new dynamic. We focused on writing some choruses. We made it a little prettier and calmer, changing up the listening experience. We wanted to use all of the tools we have at our disposal on this record. We didn’t leave anything out.”

Guitarist Corey Emond added:

“Our goal is to write exactly the kinds of songs we want to with no barriers. I feel like we did that. We’ve always wanted to have songs with singing, but we were never able to capture it until now. We also have some of the heaviest songs we’ve ever written. It has both extremes.”

An official music video for the effort’s first single, “Heaven’s Broken Heart,” can be found below. McDougal added the following about that:

“‘Heaven’s Broken Heart‘ is one part allegory and one part fantasy. It tells a story of vengeance and punishment from a god that has become too ashamed of life on earth to let it continue. It started as purely a conceptual song and eventually formed into more of a parable on my mood disorders and how suddenly they can surround and darken a person’s world.

The opening line ‘night falls fast’ being a reference to the book of the same name by Kay Redfield Jamison, which details years of research towards understanding how and why we as people commit suicide. Meanwhile lyrics like ‘shale skinned monsters’ make reference to golems and other biblical horrors that are being released on an unknowing populace destined for extinction.”
