West’s widow, Jenni, commented:

“Nobody in this world has ever made me feel loved as much as Leslie, and I feel so honored and grateful that I could give him this gift. He would often say, ‘If it doesn’t make my balls rumble, it’s not right.’ And I think there’s some balls-rumbling tones on this record. When you’re listening to it, you might even think it’s Leslie playing — and that’s a good thing. He really believed that adage of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. Even when some of the players do their own twists on the music, they’re still doing it in a way that’s authentic and respectful, and Leslie would have appreciated that.”

The effort’s first single, a cover of Mountain’s “Blood Of The Sun” featuring Zakk Wylde, can be found below:

John 5 Drops Off Yngwie Malmsteen’s Fall U.S. Tour

John 5 (Rob Zombie, etc.) will no longer be joining Yngwie Malmsteen on his upcoming tour with Images Of Eden and Sunlord. He issued the following statement:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances and out of an abundance of caution I am sad to announce that I will no longer be joining Yngwie on the upcoming US tour. The health concerns for artists and their crew that come with travelling extensively from city to city during this time have meant that myself and my team feel this is the best course of action to keep everybody on my tour team safe and well. I am certain that these Yngwie shows will be amazing, as they always are. I’m sorry I won’t be there to share my new music with you all. I’ll be back out on the road as soon as is safe and possible.”

Yngwie Malmsteen Premieres New Song “(Si Vis Pacem) Parabellum”

Yngwie Malmsteen has premiered a new song titled “(Si Vis Pacem) Parabellum.” This track is from his new album “Parabellum,” which will be released on July 23. Malmsteen commented:

“‘(Si Vis Pacem) Parabellum’ is a piece of great difficulty. Octave arpeggios it is very satisfying to apply this extremely challenging violin technique to my own composition. Starting in B harmonic minor, it transposes to D natural major and then into F# Phrygian. It is a natural flow within the chord progression of relative keys and modes. It was very challenging and exciting to perform this piece and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.”
