Mudvayne Officially Announce 2021 Reunion Shows

Mudvayne have officially reunited. The band are scheduled to perform at four festivals later this year.

Here’s the events that the group are booked for:

  • Inkcarceration Festival (September 10th – 12th in Mansfield, OH)
  • Louder Than Life (September 23rd – 26th in Louisville, KY)
  • Aftershock Festival (October 07th – 10th in Sacramento, CA)
  • Welcome To Rockville (November 11th – 14th in Daytona Beach, FL)

The band commented:

“These symptoms suggested that our evolution, I suppose, from the animal kingdom into human kingdom itself was catalyzed or triggered by our encounter with these hallucinogenics, and… Yes, we are an ape with a symbiotic relationship to a mushroom, and that has given us self reflection, language, religion, and all the spectrum of effects that flow from these things And one can only wonder how these hallucinogens might effect our future evolution as well They have brought us to this point and as we make our relationship to them conscious, we may be able to take control of our future evolutionary path

Sonic Temple And Epicenter Festivals To Take A Hiatus In 2021

The Sonic Temple and Epicenter festivals will no longer be taking place this year. Despite this, Danny Wimmer Presents still intend to move forward with Inkcarceration, Louder Than Life, Welcome To Rockville, and Aftershock if the coronavirus pandemic doesn’t derail their plans.

Danny Wimmer commented:

“Taking our festivals down last year was one of the most painful experiences our company has ever lived through. And it wasn’t just painful for us, it was hard on the bands, fans, partners, cities and vendors.

It has become clear to us that we will not be able to have our festivals this spring, and for a variety of reasons, it is not possible to produce all of our annual festivals in the window of Fall 2021, so we made the difficult decision to only produce ‘Aftershock‘, ‘Welcome To Rockville‘ and ‘Louder Than Life‘ this year.

These are our longest running and most geographically diverse festivals. Focusing on these three events, along with ‘Inkcarceration Festival‘ at the end of July gives as many fans as possible, from all over the country, the chance to rock again.”

Here’s the current festival schedule:

– Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival:

07/23-25 Mansfield, OH – Ohio State Reformatory (lineup pending)

– Louder Than Life:

09/23-26 Louisville, KY – Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center (lineup pending)

– Welcome To Rockville:

11/11-14 Daytona Beach, FL – Daytona International Speedway (lineup pending)

– Aftershock Festival:

10/07-10 Sacramento, CA – Discovery Park (lineup HERE)

Aftershock Festival Rescheduled For 2021, Metallica & My Chemical Romance To Headline

This year’s Aftershock Festival has officially been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event is now set to take place on October 7-10, 2021 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA. Metallica will headline the October 8 and 10 dates, while My Chemical Romance will be headlining the October 9 date. The headliner for the October 7 date has yet to be announced.

The following statement was issued:

“After all the harm caused by COVID-19, there is nothing that we wanted more than to be celebrating Aftershock with you this October at Discovery Park for what was going to be a monumental weekend. We, the artists, and Sacramento County all thought we had a shot at being the first post-COVID festival to happen. That really would have been incredible. We waited as long as we could but, unfortunately, the recent spike of cases now requires that we reschedule this year’s sold-out Aftershock to 2021.

Metallica and My Chemical Romance have been confirmed for Aftershock 2021, to be held at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA October 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2021. And yes, you read that right. We are excited to announce that, thanks to our friends at Jack Daniel’s, we are adding a fourth night to Aftershock 2021, as an epic celebratory evening to kick-off the return of California’s favorite rock festival. Full festival lineup will be announced this October.

All passes purchased for 2020 will automatically be good for 2021. Current Aftershock pass purchasers will receive an email on July 27 with details regarding their 2020 purchase. As an exclusive gift to all our fans who defer to 2021 with us, we are offering the newly added fourth night for FREE. The opportunity to obtain a full refund will also be available.

As always, thank you so much for your patience. Please know that every decision we made for 2020, and will make for 2021, is with you, our fans and friends, at the top of our minds. We truly hope to see you in 2021. The world needs live music to return so we can feel connected once again, and we can’t wait to bring back the biggest rock experience on the West Coast.

With Love,
Team DWP”

Metallica To Play Two Headlining Sets At Five U.S. Festivals Next Year

Metallica have officially been confirmed as the headliners for the 2020 Epicenter, Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock festivals. The band will play two different sets at every event, with one taking place on Friday and one taking place on Sunday.

“You know we love a challenge, so when Danny Wimmer Presents invited us to headline all five of their spring/fall U.S. rock festivals, that sounded like great fun. But play two separate sets on two nights in the same weekend? Definitely count us in! In another Metallica first, we’ll be playing at all five of the Wimmer rock festivals in 2020 with two separate sets, one on Friday night, one on Sunday night.”

Here’s the dates for each festival:

Metallica Rumored To Headline 2020 Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Etc. Festivals

Metallica recently launched a mysterious countdown timer online and it seems we may now know what they are teasing. The websites for a number of festivals, Sonic Temple, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, and Welcome To Rockville, have been “hacked” and are displaying a message that says the admins “have until 10/10 12PT to give [the hackers] what [they] want.” That happens to be the same time Metallica’s clock is set to end. On top of that, some fans also found out that the band’s website has ties to promoter Danny Wimmer Presents.
