Lucifena Teams Up With Volumes & Winds Of Plague Members On New Song “Depression”

Lucifena, aka Stephanie Sanson (ex-You Only Live Once), has premiered a new video for her new song “Depression.” This track features Myke Terry (Volumes) and Lucifena’s frequent collaborator Morgoth Beatz, aka Michael Montoya (Winds Of Plague).

Lucifena commented:

“This type of song is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. It’s not a trap-metal beat — it’s real instruments and it brings me back to my roots.

This song is about when you can’t help but feel like you’re descending and trying to defeat the low. The world is in a state where it’s economically collapsing and it’s also mentally affecting everyone. Depression is something everyone goes through and it can destroy you, if you let it. This song is a reflection of that external and internal struggle.”

Montoya added:

“I wanted us to make a song that had the vibe of a full band instead of doing a hip-hop metal-kinda blend. I wrote the instrumental for this song awhile ago and even recorded Myke‘s guest vocal first. I showed Lucifena the song and she loved it. Just because you’re a solo artist does mean you can’t make music that sounds like a band. My guess is a lot more solo artists from the alternative hip-hop world are going to be doing this more and more.”

Lucifena Premieres New Video For “Falling” Feat. Sid Wilson (Slipknot) & Noah Sebastian (Bad Omens)

Lucifena, aka Stephanie Sanson (ex-You Only Live Once), has premiered a new video for her song “Falling.” This track features Sid Wilson (Slipknot) and Noah Sebastian (Bad Omens) and it appears on Lucifena’s latest album “Mood Swings.“ That effort finds her collaborating with Morgoth Beatz, aka Michael Montoya (Winds Of Plague).

Lucifena commented:

“When Morgoth and Brian [Spencer, producer] first showed me the track I knew I had to go hard on it. And once I knew Sid was on it, I was like I need to do some shit that hasn’t been done in my genre. We wanted to get another dope feature for the second verse, and it took a while to decide who, but Noah definitely took the song the to next level his vocals are insane. Collaboration is something that’s really important to me it always makes the song evolve into something unexpected.”

Montoya added:

“Slipknot is my favorite band so when Sid hopped on the beat me and Brian Spencer made together I was really excited. I miss scratching in hip hop so I thought what Sid brought to the table with this track was new and refreshing.

I don’t think a trap-metal song has had a scratch solo before. Also, Noah brought great energy to his verse and we are really happy with the way it came out! I’m super stoked to have made a whole project with Lucifena and can’t wait for more exciting collaborations in the future. We definitely want to keep blending genres in new and exciting ways.”

Band members friends and fans have come and gone through the years but I hope one way or another this album has enabled the listener to embrace the spirit of strength and determination leaving a positive impact in some small form.
