As previously reported, Rush’s Neil Peart has sadly passed away following a battle with brain cancer. A number of rock/metal musicians have since taken to social media to pay tribute to the legendary drummer and some of the various posts can be found below:
It is unbelievably sad to hear that my favorite drummer of all time, Neil Peart, has left us. Very hard to find words to properly express the level of inspiration & influence he had on so so many musicians. He will forever remain at the top of my list. Farewell to a true king. pic.twitter.com/A9QkSWg2f9
Neil Peart Is single-handedly the reason I became a musician back in 1978 after hearing “all the worlds a stage” @rushtheband has been my favorite band since, so to hear that Neil passed away today is absolutely devastating to me. I’m sad beyond words……………… pic.twitter.com/PPcjzJNyXB
At the end of a crazy @rockhall night in 2013 where @rushtheband & @PublicEnemyFTP were inducted. It was just myself & Neil PEart alone talkin & laughing low in relief the long night was over-a small table backstage sharing a unique moment without much word. Rest in Beats my man
As previously reported, Steven Adler (ex-Guns N’ Roses) recently suffered a minor wound after accidentally stabbing himself. The drummer has since shared a video to apologize for all the “media confusion” and to let everyone know that he is “alive and well.”
UPDATE: A representative for Adler has now told TMZ that the stabbing was an accident and that it was not a suicide attempt. They went on to say that the injury is a “very minor, superficial wound” and that the drummer is still planning to perform in Las Vegas on July 12. The rep also told the site that Adler is still sober.
According to TMZ, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler was rushed to the hospital after stabbing himself in his Los Angeles, CA home earlier tonight (June 27). Someone called 911 after the incident and police and EMTs were sent to the scene. The wound is located in Adler’s stomach region and it is reportedly non-life threatening. No one else is suspected to have been involved.

“Of course, Guns N’ Roses was the soundtrack to my youth. To play with Steven has been the highlight of my career. He’s a lovely guy, and his playing on ‘Appetite [For Destruction]’ was second to none, and that sound he made on it defined that whole generation’s sound.”
Adler said the following about the singer:
“Let me just fucking tell you something… this guy Constantine, who I call ‘Casanova’… he came up to New York and I’m, like, ‘Oh my God, I got this great rock and roll singer!’ I’m finally working with a real superstar again. I call him ‘Casanova’ because he’s so goddamn sexy. Because he dresses so nice. I wish I was his size so I could double my wardrobe! … He flew up to New York and within five minutes, I wanted to kick his fuckin’ ass! And within 10 minutes, I fell in love with him!”
He also added:
“Guns N’ Roses are the biggest rock band in the fuckin’ world now, and since the guys don’t want me to play with them and I love these songs and I’m so proud of them … now I finally have a singer who can compete with the young Axl Rose. Axl is Axl and Casanova is fuckin’ Casanova…. That’s all I want. Also, his name isn’t ‘asshole’ it’s Axl. It sounds like you’re saying ‘asshole,’ but it’s Axl.”
