Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio) Reportedly Joins The Damned Things

Scott Ian (Anthrax) has shared a new photo that seems to suggest that Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio) has joined The Damned Things. Though not confirmed, some believe he could be replacing bassist Josh Newton (Shiner, ex-Every Time I Die), who is absent in the picture. Rob Caggiano (Volbeat, ex-Anthrax) recently confirmed his exit from the band as well, but as he said, the group already have enough guitarists, so it is unlikely that they will need to replace him. The band, which also features Keith Buckley (Every Time I Die), Joe Trohman (Fall Out Boy), and Andy Hurley (Fall Out Boy), are currently booked for Welcome To Rockville (May 4) and Epicenter (May 11).

He also said the following when asked who might be in the group’s current lineup: “I don’t know, to be honest. I haven’t spoken to those dudes in a bit.” When asked about a possible replacement for him, he added: “I think they have enough guitar players, but I’m not sure [laughs].” Despite this, Caggiano says he was “really proud” of their album and that he had a “blast” with them.

Scott Ian (Anthrax) Seems To Hint That The Damned Things Have A New Album In The Works

During a recent appearance on the Wall Of Sound: Up Against The Wall With Browny podcast, Scott Ian (Anthrax) seemed to hint that a new The Damned Things (Anthrax, Every Time I Die, Fall Out Boy, etc.) album may be in the works. He said the following:

“We always knew with The Damned Things, it was always going to be something that we would get to do schedules permitting, because we are all in extremely busy bands. But look, we’re all friends and we’re all in contact with each other on a regular basis and I can say that there is, possibly, a record, but that’s all I’m going to say about it [laughs].”

Members of the group previously said they were working on an EP and Keith Buckley (Every Time I Die) even shared a teaser awhile back.
