“One of the very first Descendents songs, written in 1977, by (founding member) David Nolte, about how living in Hermosa Beach made him feel like a freak.”

NOFX Drop Off 2021 Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival, Descendents Added

NOFX have officially dropped off the 2021 Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival in Las Vegas, NV. Descendents will now be taking their place.

NOFX’s decision to pull out of the event was related to backlash they received for a joke they made about the October 2017 Las Vegas, NV shooting during their set at the 2018 Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival. The group previously apologized for the incident, but it appears some people are still not too happy with them. Fat Mike issued the following statement:

“I’ve been playing and bowling at ‘Punk Rock Bowling‘ since the very first one when there were only 22 teams. PRB is my favorite time of the year. Like so many of you, I not only get to see my favorite bands, but I also get to see my punk friends from high school. This event is my reunion, it’s my convention, and it’s my church…. I was so fucking excited to play it this year….. but sadly we are not going to.

NOFX had a meeting this week and decided we shouldn’t play out of respect that wounds are still healing. There has been a lot of hate messages and threats because we are on the bill, It just feels wrong. We know we said shitty things that caused it, so we get it. Sorry to everyone that wanted to see us. It’ll have to be in a different city.

Hopefully we can see you all in Vegas when the time’s right. But not Everything Sucks, I talked to Milo yesterday…. And he’s comin! Decendents are taking our spot! It’s pretty fucking cool that we are being replaced by a better band! I wish I could be there to see ’em.

Actually very sincere,
Fat Mike and NOFX“

“Loser. Big time loser. Delusional loser. SORE loser. The time has come. The time is now. Just go, go, GO. I don’t care how. Donald J. Trump, will you please go now! What’s it gonna take? A gazillion dollars? (Oh wait, you already grifted that from supporters)… A get out of jail free card? (Only if our judicial system totally fails us)… A wooden stake through the heart? Whatever we can do to make you go away, we need to do it. And I don’t mean just leave the White House, I mean crawl back into your hole of hate and live out the rest of your life as a nobody. NOFX Drop Off “Camp Punk In Drublic” Following Las Vegas Shooting Remarks

NOFX are continuing to face backlash after making a joke about the October 2017 Las Vegas, NV shooting during their set at the Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival. Now, the group and Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, who also feature Fat Mike, have both been dropped from “Camp Punk In Drublic”. Fat Mike was one of the organizers of the event along with Synergy Global Entertainment and Brew Ha Ha Productions. Descendents and The Vandals will perform in their places.

NOFX have since issued a pre-apology:

“I can’t sleep, no one in my band can. What we said in Vegas was shitty and insensitive and we are all embarrassed by our remarks. So we decided we will all get together to discuss and write an in depth, sincere, and honest apology because that’s what the people we offended and hurt deserve.”

The festival also issued a statement:

“Camp Punk In Drublic festival producers have announced that NOFX and Me First And The Gimme Gimmes (featuring Fat Mike) will not be performing at this weekend’s festival at Legend Valley near Columbus, OH.

Descendents have been added to the Saturday festival lineup, replacing NOFX, and The Vandals have been added to the Friday Night Kickoff Party, replacing Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.

While NOFX is known for their dark, uncomfortable humor, the festival producers of Camp Punk In Drublic are shocked and disappointed by the band’s recent statements about the Route 91 Harvest Festival victims and country music fans. These statements do not reflect the feelings or views of the Camp Punk In Drublic festival, its staff, and its sponsors.

The festival producers support fans of all music genres and take safety very seriously at all of their events.

Out of respect for Route 91 Harvest Festival victims and their families, Camp Punk In Drublic will make a donation to a fund benefiting those affected by the 2017 tragedy.”

Furthermore, NOFX have also lost their partnership with Stone Brewing Co., who was sponsoring the event and brewing the band’s “Punk In Drublic” beer. The brewer said the following:

“We at Stone Brewing are aware of NOFX’s insensitive and indefensible statements this past weekend. As a result, we are severing all our ties with NOFX, including festival sponsorship and the production of our collaboration beer.”
