Randy Rampage (Ex-Annihilator, Etc.) Dead At 58

Randall Archibald, aka Randy Rampage, has passed away at the age of 58. According to the Vancouver Sun, the musician, who was best known for his work with Annihilator and D.O.A., was relaxing in a chair when he suffered an apparent heart attack. R.I.P.

The news was originally revealed via the Facebook page for the punk documentary “Bloodied But Unbowed”:

“Tonight sometime after 7PM Randy Rampage left us to reign in the heavens. A punk legend has moved on. And because he shared himself with you, please share a moment and think of Randy Desmond Archibald aka Rampage. We love you Randy.”

Annihilator also issued a short statement:

“R.I.P. Randy. Thanks for your unique and legendary voice.”

D.O.A.’s Joey “Shithead” Keithley commented as well:

“Really sad news about the passing of my friend Randy Rampage. Randy, Chuck, and I set out in 1978 to conquer the world, we didn’t quite get there but we made a lot of noise and woke a lot of people up along the way. Randy’s stage presence and humour were an integral part of DOA. Those qualities were a huge part of what made those early performances really special. By the time we recorded Hardcore 81 Randy’s bass playing had reached a peak that matched perfectly with Chuck’s uber dynamic drumming. All in all Randy played on 4 DOA albums. Something Better Change, Hardcore 81, Win the Battle and Northern Avenger. Randy spent 3 different stints in DOA 78-81, 00-02, 06-08. My condolences to his family. I miss you already and anyone who knows anything about rock & roll will miss you as well.”
