“The symbiotic relationship between Daniel Martin Diaz’s visual art and Puscifer’s sonic landscapes on Existential Reckoning, although accidental, is undeniable. Like sentient life forms separated at birth and reunited in the Arizona desert. The cherry on top is the new video he created to accompany the Phantogram ReWire of ‘Postulous.’ Blown away. Thank you, DMD.”
Diaz added:
“The concept was to create a futuristic yet nostalgic vision inspired by the overall aesthetic of the music and Carina and Maynard‘s performance. I decided to use mind clairvoyance and telekinesis waveforms to convey their communication since their voices blend seamlessly in the recording. The video explores various themes, including invasion from other worlds, apocalyptic scenarios, pyramid mysteries, alien abduction, and advanced technologies.”

“Puscifer is my favorite kind of band – a band whose sound you can’t quite put your finger on or fully describe unless you just listen to them. They have a playful, almost child-like innocence, yet a deliberate and brave sound all at the same time. I have been a fan of their music for quite some time and am so excited to be a part of this project.
I really enjoyed working on this remix because I didn’t feel like I was stepping on the original integrity of the song, but rather pieced together their collage-like music in a different way that allowed me to pay tribute to the original, and shake hands and communicate with the original sonic landscape.”
Puscifer have shared another music video for Carina Round’s reimagining of “A Singularity.” The clip was created by Maynard James Keenan’s 8-year-old daughter Lei Li Keenan and it can be seen below. The track is from the band’s new remix album, “Existential Reckoning: Rewired,” which will be released on March 31. Lei Li commented:
“It’s hard to hear this song without feeling sad about losing [our dog] Miho. Maybe this beautiful video of the stuff we took at the aquarium will help us feel better about her being gone.”
Maynard added:
“I helped my daughter, Lei Li, edit this clip in iMovie. Not bad for an 8-year- old.”

The band commented:
“Many of you know Yul Vazquez from one of his numerous TV roles (Severance, The Outsider, Russian Doll, etc.) but he’s also a talented photographer and painter. Yul lent his talents to our series of “A Singularity (Re-Imagined by Carina Round)” videos…”
Vazquez added:
“As an actor I have the opportunity to travel to incredible places and witness beautiful and often lonely things. I do my best to photograph these moments, the architecture, the shadow and light. I used some of this footage I’ve photographed all over the world for this track. But when Maynard revealed to me the source of these lyrics it altered the edit. The song now had far more emotional impact on me which sent me on my own journey and prompted me to include some very personal footage. It’s my contribution to a song about loss.”

“Throughout my visualizer, Maynard’s lyrics take us on a voyage about a heartbreaking loss. I animated ocean waves of emotion that ebb and flow with the phases of the Moon while geometric shapes pulse to the song. These energetic forms are symbolic of beings that were once physically inseparable, now forever unified in spirit across space and time.”

“Upon hearing Carina‘s rewire of ‘A Singularity,’ many of our extended family were moved and wanted to submit their own version of an accompanying video/film. I couldn’t decide which to use, so screw it. We’ll be releasing them one at a time over the next few weeks. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did.”

“On Oct. 7, 2021, I lost my Muse. Deadly Little MiHo lost her 2 year battle with pancreatitis and kidney disease. We thought we lost her in late 2019, so I panicked and wrote her this song. We were certain she was done for. But we were blessed with a second chance and a bit more time. I rarely share things like this. Too painful. But this one can’t be kept bottled up.
As I have mentioned before, she has been hiding in most of my vocal tracks since 2005. She was either in or near the vocal booth every time I tracked. Her sigh, her bark, sniffle, sneeze. Her jingling collar. Her squeaky toys. Usually poorly timed.
