Tool’s Maynard James Keenan Praises His Wife For Her Strength Amid Her Battle With Breast Cancer

Tool’s Maynard James Keenan has taken to social media to wish his wife, Jennifer Lei Li Keenan, a happy birthday, while also praising her for her strength as she battles breast cancer. The frontman said the following:

“Today is my wife’s Birthday. @licoricelust I’m going to guess that it will be viewed as her favorite. In late Nov she felt a lump in her breast. On X-mas eve, she was diagnosed with cancer. She didn’t collapse into a pile of self pity. She didn’t launch into an entitlement rage. She didn’t act out in any self destructive manner. Instead she asked the right questions, listened to her doctors, made a plan, and stuck to it. And when there were things she couldn’t do on her own, she asked for help. Before the chemo could take her hair, she cut it all off and had our friend Brooke make her a wig to match. And then she went to work. No one was the wiser. She’s successfully navigated both the chemo and the surgery, and now begins the radiation. And all without whining or bitching. She is my rock. She is my muse. She is my ALL. Be like Jen. Happy Birthday, My Love. Cheers to this one and many more.”

Puscifer Planning To Release Reworked Version Of “Existential Reckoning”

It looks like Puscifer are planning to release a reworked version of their latest album “Existential Reckoning.“ Maynard James Keenan said the following about that during a recent interview with Kerrang!:

“We’re actually working on a rework album, but I have no idea when it will come out because everything with COVID and holidays threw a wrench in some of it, but it is getting done. We don’t have anything scheduled yet for it to come out, but those are songs that are going to probably change direction, and when we go out and actually tour them, they’ll probably evolve as well.”

Maynard James Keenan Hopes To Do More Puscifer Livestream Events

Puscifer have already done a couple of virtual shows and now it looks like more might be on the horizon. During a recent interview with Metal Hammer, frontman Maynard James Keenan said that he is hoping to do more pay-per-view events in the future.

Keenan said the following:

“We’re probably gonna work on another pay-per-view at some point. Of course, I’ve got harvest coming up in July, August, September, so if we’re gonna do another streaming event we’ll have to film it in June.”

He continued when asked if the group plan to celebrate upcoming album anniversaries:

“I think we’re really just enjoying this one, doing the filming and being able to introduce characters, and develop those characters more fully. We’re definitely gonna do the ‘Vagina‘ album and ‘Conditions Of My Parole‘ at some point, for sure, ‘cos we’re really enjoying this process.”

He also added:

“I enjoy the live setting, but now that we’re doing pay-per-views I’m realizing we were trying to do things live that didn’t necessarily translate with some of these characters. So, this is nice, because we’re able to present those in a film setting, and now, in a live show, we don’t have to jam a lot of that in there.

We can still have the theatrics, but you don’t necessarily need to hear the dialogue, so that’ll be fun, to be able to fix things, in a way. I’m looking forward to, eventually, getting out there with ‘Existential Reckoning‘.”

Puscifer Premiere “Bullet Train To Iowa” Music Video

Puscifer have premiered a new video for their song “Bullet Train To Iowa.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Existential Reckoning.” Frontman Maynard James Keenan said the following:

“The ‘Bullet Train To Iowa‘ video (watch below) is sort of a bridge between the ‘Money $hot‘ Live at the Mayan Theater performance (‘Billy D And The Hall Of Feathered Serpents‘ – tickets: pusciferlive.com) and the Existential Reckoning Live at Arcosanti performance. Kind of like what ‘Rogue One’ is to the Star Wars films, but without the Storm Troopers and snarky robots.”
