The band commented:

Jane’s Addiction May Record New Music With Multiple Guitarists

Jane’s Addiction have been working on new music, but it appears Dave Navarro may not be able to track a full album due to his battle with long COVID. As such, the band may recruit their touring guitarists Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens Of The Stone Age), Josh Klinghoffer (ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Daniel Ash (Bauhaus). Vocalist Perry Farrell told Alternative Press the following about that:

“I don’t know who will end up recording the guitar tracks, but I’d love to see Dave, Troy, Josh and Daniel contribute — all the guys on the tour that really stuck it out.”

Jane’s Addiction Cancel Immediate Live Dates After Perry Farrell Suffers Injury

Jane’s Addiction have dropped off their immediate live dates with Smashing Pumpkins and Poppy due to an injury that was sustained by frontman Perry Farrell. During their absence, Our Lady Peace will be filling in.

Farrell issued the following statement:

“Friends and lovers, the tour so far has been an absolute blast. Filled with so much joy, and rock vibes. I’ve loved seeing all your faces, hearing you sing with us and feeling the love and energy from each and every one of you. Especially all the people from my generation, and there’s been a lot of youngsters I have enjoyed speaking to. Good times.

I’d like to address a lot of the comments and give you all an update.

After Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, I suffered an injury that resulted in my inability to perform. I have since been in pain and discomfort and have been receiving rigorous physio therapy that has done wonders.

Due to doctors orders, we regrettably and forcibly have to cancel the following shows, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, as well as Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City. Our friends, Our Lady Peace will be covering the next three shows as we aim to rejoin the tour this Saturday in Cleveland.

I am filled with sadness and frustration to have to announce this, but I have to mend in order to continue the tour and get back on stage.

Thank you for your understanding.”

Jane’s Addiction Guitarist Dave Navarro To Sit Out Upcoming Tour Due To His Battle With Long COVID

Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Navarro will be missing the band’s upcoming tour with Smashing Pumpkins and Poppy. The guitarist is sitting out the trek due to complications related to his battle with Long COVID.

Navarro issued the following statement:

“To all of the Jane’s Addiction fans attending the Jane’s / The Smashing Pumpkins ‘Spirits On Fire‘ tour, I am sorry to have to say that I will not be attending due to my continued battle with Long Covid that I have been dealing with since last December. I had hoped for a full recovery by October but I am still very fatigued and will not be able to join this leg.

I am personally gutted as our original bass player has returned. Eric Avery. We wanted to bring you the original line up but that will have to wait until I am recovered. While the band is touring, I will be working on some new Jane’s material in the studio here in LA. In the meantime, the great Troy Van Leeuwen will be filling in for me.

He has been in such bands as Queens of the Stone Age, Failure, A Perfect Circle, Eagles of Death Metal & The Damned just to name a few. He is a great guy and I am honored to have him help make this tour happen. Though I am saddened to not make this tour I am focussed on making a full recovery and re-joining the guys when I am able.

I truly wish the band well on this tour and I am confident they will bring everything to make it a fabulous show! Go get em guys! Maybe I can get to a show one night and watch my own band for the first time ever., Thank you for understanding, Dave Navarro“
