Machine Gun Kelly Says Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Wrote A “Terrible” Unused Verse For “Tickets To My Downfall”, Taylor Shares Emails That Dispute Those Claims

As previously reported, Machine Gun Kelly recently made headlines after blasting Slipknot by calling them “old weird dudes with masks” onstage at the 2021 Riot Fest in Chicago, IL. Now, the rapper turned rocker has apparently decided to keep the feud going on social media.

Machine Gun Kelly tweeted the following:

“very odd that when an artist talks shit, and i respond, i’m the bad guy.”

He later added:

“Corey [Taylor] did a verse for a song on tickets to my downfall album, it was fucking terrible, so i didn’t use it. he got mad about it, and talked shit to a magazine about the same album he was almost on. yalls stories are all off. just admit he’s bitter.”

Taylor then responded with the following:

“I don’t like people airing private shit like a child. So this is all I’ll say: I didn’t do the track because I don’t like when people try to ‘write’ for me. I said NO to THEM. So without further ado…. #receipts This is all I’m going to say about it.”

The receipts Taylor mentioned are emails between him and Machine Gun Kelly’s “Tickets To My Downfall” collaborator Travis Barker (Blink-182), which you can find below:

Machine Gun Kelly has since fired back as well:

“basically, your verse was really bad. respectfully, i was just telling you to rewrite it because it was really bad. respectfully. 😕 but let’s do a britney spears song cover together 🤘🏼”

Atreyu Premiere “Warrior” Music Video

Atreyu have premiered a new video for their song “Warrior.” This track features Blink-182’s Travis Barker and it will appear on the band’s new album “Baptize,” which is set to be released on June 4. The group commented:

“Sometimes life punches you in the face. The fist hurts — and the floor hurts worse. But getting back up feels incredible. ‘Warrior‘ is a song about the war within. There is a daily battle inside all of us, as well as the knowledge that we each have the power to not only get back up, but also have the fire we need to thrive and burn brighter than ever.”

Atreyu To Release New Album “Baptize” In June, Premiere New Songs “Warrior” And “Underrated”

Atreyu have announced that their new album “Baptize” will be released on June 4. With this news, the band have also premiered two new songs, “Warrior” (feat. Blink-182’s Travis Barker) and “Underrated.”

The group said the following about “Warrior”:

“‘Warrior’ is song about persistence and never giving up. We hope this song can be the puzzle piece that helps people realize that we ALL have the capacity for greatness. Sometimes, greatness can exist in the shadows and lives buried under negativity, trauma, or anxiety. ‘Warrior’ is about searching through all of that endless darkness to finally find the sunrise.

When we wrote ‘Warrior,’ the idea to do a big marching drum break came about. We wanted it to feel like a hometown football game. Travis Barker was the perfect person to bring this to life. It’s cool to have him be a part of the song and to perform in a different light than what people may be used to.”

They also added the following about “Underrated”:

“We’ve always had to prove ourselves. We’ve never been handed anything nor have we taken any shortcuts. It’s never been ‘the easy way.’ Over two decades later, we’re still making our mark.”
