Iron Maiden Announce “Legacy Of The Beast” In-Game Collaboration With Arch Enemy

Iron Maiden have teamed up with Arch Enemy for a new collaboration inside their “Legacy Of The Beast” mobile game. The band’s frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz will appear as “Queen Beast” in the game during an “Atomic Sunset” event, which will run for a week starting today (May 12).

A press release offered more details:

“The week-long event will take fans and players on a journey with Eddie and Queen Beast, a regal warrior harnessing the fierce powers of wild animals, striking fear in the hearts of all who oppose her!

As they walk through a post-war dystopian wasteland, society at large is witnessing the rise of a mutant species, a creature that is the product of the nuclear war. They are driven to destroy all of what is left of the natural world; human and animal kind.

Queen Beast and her companion GreyClaw must work together with Doomsday Eddie to gather survivors and rebuild the community while fighting mutant henchmen. Future generations’ survival lies in their hands.”

White-Gluz commented:

“We made sure to include elements of the entire band. We worked directly with the developers to make this character really special and unique that really symbolizes Arch Enemy.

I think fans playing this game will have a fun time, also seeing AE lyrics in the script, in the storyline of the game and I’m curious to see who picks up on the little easter eggs we left in there. It’s really exciting to see that AE will be fighting alongside Eddie and our character that we’ve developed Queen Beast along with her companion Greyclaw.”

She also added the following about the “Queen Beast” character:

“Strength, femininity, power and compassion! We really put a lot of detail into developing her attacks, the way she looks, the way she moves, and I think its gonna be a really fun element for people playing the game.”

Cult Of Luna Release New Video Game For “Cold Burn”

Cult Of Luna have released a new video game/interactive music video for their song “Cold Burn.“ If you’re interested. you can find that release on Steam.

More details were shared in a press release:

“Instead of a traditional music video, Cult of Luna creates an immersive audiovisual experience in collaboration with creative agency North Kingdom / NoA, where innovation and storytelling stand at their core.

The player’s mission is to help a ‘lost light’ to escape the darkness, and to find its way home through a dystopian maze. The player can also gather other lights and bring them to The Mother Light, at the center of the maze.

The single has been rebuilt in the real-time tool Unreal Engine, to dynamically adapt to how the player navigates the gaming experience’s world. This makes each experience unique in the dynamic version.

The gaming experience can be found on Steam and is created by Swedish creative agency North Kingdom / NoA, with long-running experience of collaborating with gaming and tech companies such as EA, Riot Games, and Google.”

Cult Of Luna’s Johannes Persson commented:

“For as long as we have known Linus Johansson of North Kingdom, which spans from the Leave me here video in 2004, he’s always tried to push interactivity and blur the line between the artist and the art. So it came as no surprise to us when he suggested making a video game out of the ‘Cold Burn’ video. ‘Go right ahead,’ we said and now we are as intrigued by the result as we hope you are.”

North Kingdom’s Linus Johansson added:

“We’ve done many projects within music videos throughout the years with a unique vision. With the brief from Cult of Luna, we saw an interesting creative opportunity to explore what the future holds within music video production – to combine music with real-time technology and interactive storytelling. When we create projects in the intersection between music and gaming, we reach a new audience.”

Iron Maiden Announce “Legacy Of The Beast” In-Game Collaboration With Disturbed

Iron Maiden have teamed up with Disturbed for a new collaboration inside their “Legacy Of The Beast” mobile game. Disturbed’s mascot “The Guy” will appear in the game as part of a special “Disturbing Sciences” event, which will launch today (February 16) at 4:00pm PDT / 7:00pm EDT.

A press release offered more details:

“The game’s ‘Disturbing Sciences’ event is an ode to both bands’ lore taking its broad themes from the cover of Iron Maiden’s 1986 album ‘Somewhere In Time’ and ‘Disturbed: Dark Messiah’, a five-part comic book series where The Guy makes his comic book debut.

Over the years, The Guy has been depicted as an antihero, saving people from corporate corruption, often through violent means. In this new storyline, Cyborg Eddie and The Guy have been summoned through time and space to the Polvo Valley, a small town transformed into a hyper-sanitized, machine-driven industrial city, where Eddie and The Guy are dead-set on punishing the city’s corporate overlord, Brian Kek, and confronting the CEO at Kek Tower before discovering the depth of his hubris.”

Disturbed’s David Draiman added:

“Myself and the guys from Disturbed are humbled to be included in the ‘Legacy of the Beast’ game. We feel that The Guy is a worthy addition to the saga and we’re very happy to be a part of it … when we first saw the first concept pieces of how he would be integrated into the game it was thrilling for all of us, it’s still kind of surreal!

I love that our ‘Dark Messiah’ storyline from the Disturbed comic book series, {from the graphic novel} is being integrated into the video game series, I think they go hand and hand with one another. I love more people having the opportunity to play as The Guy… and battle the forces out there that deserve to have their asses handed to them.”
