Putney commented:

“To be honest I was initially torn about doing this. The distaste and rage I have for our systemic issues in this country are more palpable than they ever have been. But I am NOT the voice of the oppressed, and I would never pretend to be.

What I can do is sit down with my fellow artists, friends, peers, and heroes alike and start a conversation about what we CAN do to support institutions for positive change, because something HAS to change. And the money that will roll in from this event will go to the experts. The ACLU. The Civil Rights organization that has fought for the purest form of free speech, justice, and equality for ONE HUNDRED YEARS (let one hundred years sink in for a second). The work that they are heavily involved in today aims to tackle these systemic issues.

The artists who will appear on this livestream come from different corners of life, different upbringings, different tax brackets. Naturally, some people are more comfortable expressing their opinions and beliefs to the public than others. I ask that you do not expect fire and brimstone from everyone, and do not scorn those who’d like to have a lighthearted conversation about music. The act of participating and donating sought after items to a worthy charity should be enough for you to understand their intentions.

This raffle will be one for the books. Extremely rare items, tons of merch, test presses and limited vinyl, music gear, it goes on and on. A lot of those involved are bringing something special and I truly thank them for parting with sacred items.

The link is live to start donating now. We will be announcing more details and giveaways soon.

Go big or go home.”

Vocalist Travis Tabron Exits Varials, Band Premiere “South Of One” Music Video

Travis Tabron has announced his departure from Varials. The vocalist said he needed to leave the band because it was “becoming toxic to [his] mental health and well-being.”

Varials said the following:

“Hello everyone,

An update on the band; Travis has decided to step down from being the vocalist of Varials. This band has become something that was no longer the best thing for him and his health and happiness. Absolutely no hard feelings, and we wish him the absolute best on all future endeavors.

We’ve really done some crazy shit together and had some of the best experiences of our lives together. Memories we will never forget until the day we die and it truly wouldn’t have been the same without him.

Varials as a band has no means of stopping or slowing down. All current tours and things not announced yet are still happening and we hope to continue to get the support we have until this point.”

Tabron added:

“Hi everyone,

I’m sorry to say, but about a week ago i made the decision to step down from being in Varials 😞 Unfortunately it was one of those things where no matter how much i loved what i was doing it was just simply becoming toxic to my mental health and well-being not only on tour, but while at home as well and taking too much of a toll on my overall happiness as a result.

However in the last 5 years i’ve made memories i’ll never forget, and friendships that will never break so don’t think for a second i regret any of my time in Varials. Big thank you to all the fans for making my experience with this band so insanely badass i love you all!!! Big thank you to Sean, Mike, Mitch, James. Big thank you to the (new) Fearless Records team. Big thank you to Carl & Brad, and literally every single person that ever supported me in any way/shape/form during my time in Varials.

This is not the end for me musically and it’s not the end for Varials either! I’m going to be pursuing a lot more different sounds and projects(maybe heavy?) in the future after i can decompress from this situation fully. Varials actually have something dropping today too so stay tuned.

thank you for taking the time to read this, and try not to ask me too many questions because the wound is still pretty fresh for me. i love u guys 🌹 :-(“

To commemorate their time with Tabron, Varials have shared a new video for “South Of One.” That track features Counterparts’ Brendan Murphy and it appears on their latest album “In Darkness.”
