Dan Briggs (Between The Buried And Me) Streams New Nightmare Scenario EP

Dan Briggs (Between The Buried And Me) is streaming the debut EP from his Nightmare Scenario project in full. The effort will officially be released tomorrow (July 5).

Briggs told Prog the following:

“The idea behind Nightmare Scenario is something that’s been with me for seven years and I’ve had the music for a full length written for maybe four years or so, but I really never thought that I’d be the one singing on it.

After doing a lot of records with different groups I started to feel like I needed something that was so undeniably me, every aspect of it, and I did a vocal demo that actually resonated with me and gave me the confidence that maybe I could actually do it.

Living alone in the woods and being isolated is something that’s given me more confidence over the last year to explore and I’ve released some singles in that time all whilst honing in my recording and mixing abilities, in between writing for the various other groups. Upon finishing the last demo and realising what a massive task I had ahead of me and a back half of a year jam packed with touring I was just hit with ‘I need to do something NOW’.

When I listen back to this it really is the most honest and telling point of where I am musically at 34 years old. The album is about a character on a distant planet losing track of time and reality and what their purpose is, confronted by their future and past selves to come to terms with the presence that tries to consume them and finding peace knowing it will always be a part of them but to not let it consume.”

Harley Flanagan’s Cro-Mags Release New EP “Don’t Give In”

Cro-Mags have digitally released a new EP titled “Don’t Give In.” The effort comes with three songs including the title track, “Drag You Under,” and “No One’s Victim.” You can stream those below. A limited edition 7″ vinyl pressing of the effort will also be released on August 2.

Harley Flanagan commented:

“In late 2018 I went into the studio to start working on a new CRO-MAGS album. After recording the first few songs, I got a strange phone call in the middle of the night that turned out to be from Tony Brummel of Victory Records.

I thought it was a prank call; it turned out not to be, and I worked out record deals with Victory and Arising Empire in Europe. One of the many things that make me happy about signing with Victory and Arising Empire is that they are genuinely fans of my music and know the history; they are not just labels trying to make money off us or the genre. I know that I am working with the best team, and the best musicians to launch the next era of CRO-MAGS.”

In other news, Cro-Mags have also booked some European “Best Wishes” 30th anniversary dates:

09/27 Essen, GER – Turock

Volumes have surprised released a new EP titled “Coming Clean.” The effort comes with six songs including: “NO LOVE” (feat. Attila’s Chris Fronzak), “hello goodbye,“ “ALIVE,“ “Revenant,“ “Until The End,” and the title track.

Bassist Raad Soudani said the following:

“Some of us have struggled with depression or drug issues. We’ve battled those demons personally and together and found a nice stability and substance. At the same time, we’re coming clean with ourselves. We’re men now. Life is more precious. The music reflects this honest idea of opening up.”

He also added the following about “NO LOVE“:

“It speaks on the idea of how we’ve come from the bottom and the dirt, but we’ve been here a long time, so you’re going to have to show some respect. We know where we stand. We’re asserting our identity. We’ve found ourselves and know what we’re doing.”

He then further commented on the EP:

“‘Coming Clean‘ is an emotional moment for us. I hope you feel something when you hear it and gain some perspective. This is Volumes. ‘Coming Clean‘ hints at where we’re headed in the future.”

Gargoyl (Revocation, Ayahuasca) Release Debut EP

Gargoyl, the band featuring Dave Davidson (Revocation), Luke Roberts (Ayahuasca), and Josh Park (Ayahuasca), have released their debut EP “Asomatous.” You can stream that below. Davidson commented:

“It was hard to choose the songs to put on this EP since Gargoyl has been evolving from the beginning, but I think these two tracks are a good representation of the diversity of our sound. The music is raw, emotional and hopefully thought-provoking, and we hope you enjoy this free EP and spread the gospel of Gargoyl as we prepare to finish up writing for our full-length record.”

Hollywood Undead Stream New EP “Psalms”

Hollywood Undead are streaming their new EP “Psalms” in full. The effort, which serves as companion piece to the band’s latest album “Five”, was officially released today (November 2). Johnny 3 Tears commented:

“On our new EP, we tackle darker subjects such as life, death, and suicide. As a band, we try to convey messages of hope and with this project specifically, redemption. If I could speak to every individual who needs help I would. But no one can do that, and that’s why we make the music we do. Hopefully we can help someone with these songs. They have definitely helped us.”
