Drummer Dan Presland Exits Ne Obliviscaris

Ne Obliviscaris have parted ways with drummer Dan Presland. A replacement has yet to be revealed.

The band commented:

“Dan has been an absolute rock behind the kit for this band for so many years, so many songs, so many tours…

Dan has decided to move on to other things and say goodbye to his time in NeO, but he’ll always be a huge part of how we arrived at this point here today and we are so grateful to have shared so many special moments together over the years…

**For those already enquiring about auditions for the vacant drumming position, we’ll be making announcements at a later date. **”

Presland added:

“After 16 years, I am pulling the curtains on NeO and moving on to new and different challenges with my life. Like everybody else on this planet, the last 2 years especially has been a shake up for myself and the directions I am now heading on. It has been an incredible ride being in this band from basically day 1.

It was the first band I ever tried out for, after playing drums for about a year, and I am still thankful to this day the guys were patient with me and let me grow into the band. The band has definitely shaped the musician I have grown into to this day. I was always proud of not accepting invitations to join established touring bands, and pushed forward with NeO.

I always said I would never travel overseas until music took me, as a personal accountability measure to keep me focused on my goals – I achieved that with these guys and very proud of what we have accomplished as a unit.

I recorded drums for the new record back in March 2020, and of course will still keep my tracks for the record. It’s had its setbacks, but I can assure you it is a damn strong record. I did more prep work and writing for that record than I have done for anything else, and I’m excited for everybody to hear the end result. Hopefully the guys will have news for you on that sometime soon.

I will be continuing with music, and have in the last few months become quite busy with new projects, and my new band Black Lava. I will continue to play music and tour, nothing will change there. I’ll be keeping my options open for any future projects/opportunities/touring that may come my way, but until then my studio, my full time day job, and my bands will keep me pretty busy for now.

We are all parting on good terms, I have a lifetime of memories with the boys, I will miss them dearly, and I am extremely grateful for all the friends and opportunities with music that have entered my life through NeO. I wish nothing but success to the guys moving forward. Thanks guys for a hell of a ride, and thank you to everyone I have met through the band, all the crew, fans, bands, haters and the 100s of drummers I now call friends worldwide.

Antiqva (Ne Obliviscaris, Ex-Cradle Of Filth, Etc.) Premiere New Song “Funeral Crown”

Xenoyr (Ne Obliviscaris), Lindsay Schoolcraft (ex-Cradle of Filth), Fabian Schaper, Justine Ethier (ex-Blackguard), Dalai Cellai, Memnock (Susperia, ex-Old Man’s Child), and Andy Thomas (Black Crown Initiate) have joined forces in a new band called Antiqva. A lyric video for the group’s first single, “Funeral Crown,” can be found below:

Xenoyr commented:

“Music from Antiqva has been a long time coming, but like most good things it required patience and maturing. For obvious reasons this year, our individual main projects were delayed and/or unable to tour so we seized the opportunity to focus largely on developing our sound more, and finally through pandemic and isolation, recorded across 5 countries, we now emerge with our debut track, ‘Funeral Crown’.

In short the song discusses the abuse of power, something we’ve all been exposed to, subjected to or even been a part of, and it paints a picture of the potential consequences. The interest we’ve garnered so far has been overwhelming considering we’re ultimately a brand new band, but we hope this will whet your appetite for what is to come. Thank you to those who’ve followed and supported our journey so far.”

Fans can purchase a limited edition 12 inch featuring “Funeral Crown” and the b-side track “Anadem Gyre” HERE.

Omega Infinity (Ne Obliviscaris, Etc.) Sign With Season Of Mist

Omega Infinity, the band featuring Marc “Xenoyr” Campbell (Ne Obliviscaris) and Tentakel P. (Todtgelichter), have signed a new deal with Season Of Mist. The group’s debut album will be released in 2020 and a teaser can be found below:

Campbell commented:

“Omega Infinity is an outlet for both T. and myself, a vessel for our darker explorations, and Season Of Mist ultimately was the best choice to help us on our journey. Signing with them was an easy decision considering their long-term ability to grow unique bands, allowing them to flourish with integrity and to be themselves. Also, Ne Obliviscaris has been working with them for years, and so I’ve a good relationship and understanding how they are…that familiarity will help when we’re lost in space.”

Tentakel P. added:

“Season Of Mist have been doing what they do for a very long time and raised the bar for many extremes – not only metal – with their professionalism. As they also served as the breeding place and birth ground for many ground-breaking acts that helped to form my own musical identity for decades, we feel honored to be part of the roster and aim to bring new extremes to the label! We will see you in The Deep Dark Void!”

Lindsay Schoolcraft (Cradle Of Filth) Premieres “See The Light” Lyric Video

Lindsay Schoolcraft (Cradle Of Filth) has premiered a lyric video for her new song “See The Light.” This track features Xenoyr (Ne Obliviscaris) and it will appear on Schoolcraft’s new album “Martyr.” That effort was co-written by ex-Evanescence drummer Rocky Gray and it will be released on October 7.

Schoolcraft commented:

“I knew I wanted to have a duet on this album somewhere and the more I completed composing ‘See The Light’ with Rocky Gray, the more I knew Xenoyr needed to appear on it. Sometimes, if you want to say something loudly it has to be screamed harshly, and the more I reflected on the lyrics, the more I heard many of our shared conversations. This song is open to interpretation, but I wrote it back in 2016 when it was prevalent that greed and prejudice were more valued globally over compassion and doing the right thing. Those difficult times for the world inspired this song greatly.”
