Benante said the following about the album:

“Back in February of last year with COVID and all the other B.S. that was going on, I was glued to the 24-hour news cycle on the TV and my phone, and I started to get really depressed. My girlfriend said I needed to turn off the news and suggested I do something creative, whether it was art or drumming or writing new songs, and she was right.”

“I knew a lot of my musician friends were going through the same thing I had been, so I started asking them if they wanted to get involved, play some songs with me, maybe make a video – that’s how it all started.”

“This isn’t a solo album. This is a record of my favorite songs done with some of my friends during a very dark time. We found a shining light and this is the result of that light. I was really happy that my musician friends came on board and helped make this record what it is. I appreciate all of them, and they all did such a fantastic job. Despite all of the darkness we’ve experienced this past year, there are ‘silver linings,’ that’s why I chose that title for the album.”

The record’s first single, Benante’s “Run-DMC Medley” with Darryl “DMC” McDaniels (Run-DMC), Rob Caggiano (Volbeat, ex-Anthrax), and Roberto “Ra” Diaz (Suicidal Tendencies), can be found below:

Shadows Fall, Anthrax, Death Ray Vision, Etc. Members Join Forces In Living Wreckage

Jeff Gard (Death Ray Vision), Jon Donais (Anthrax, Shadows Fall), Matt LeBreton (Downpour), Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall, Act Of Defiance), and Jon Morency (Let Us Prey) have joined forces in a new band called Living Wreckage. The group’s debut album is expected to be released later this year. Donais had the following to say about the project:

“I have been wanting to do a band of this style for a long time. Good ol’ hard rock / metal that fits somewhere between Skid Row and Pantera. I was lucky enough to find the perfect guys for this and it’s great to be playing original music again with my Shadows Fall bandmate Matt Bachand. I can’t wait to share some music with everyone!”

Lost Symphony Premiere “A Murder Of Crows” Video

Lost Symphony have premiered a new video for “A Murder Of Crows“ off their new album “Chapter II” (out October 16). That track is inspired by the memory of late All That Remains guitarist Oli Herbert and it features Jon Donais (Anthrax, Shadows Fall), Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall), and Jimi Bell (Autograph, House Of Lords).

Lost Symphony’s Benny Goodman commented:

“Someone had sent me a picture of hundreds of crows over a funeral reception. They asked me if I knew what a group of crows was called? ‘No idea?’ A murder of crows. Except it’s not just the birds doing it.”

Donais added:

“Working with Lost Symphony was such a blast for me! It’s an honor to play on a project with some of the best heavy-metal [and] rock guitarists out there. This is a must for anyone who loves shred guitar!”
