Lost Symphony Premiere Video For New Song “My Last Goodbye” Featuring Late All That Remains Guitarist Oli Herbert

Lost Symphony have premiered a new video for their new song “My Last Goodbye.” The track, which features Matthew LaPierre, Ryan Formato, and late All That Remains guitarist Oli Herbert, is from the band’s new album “Chapter III,” which will be released tomorrow (July 9). Benny Goodman had the following to say about the song:

“I wrote ‘My Last Goodbye’ in 2004 as an homage to my friend Jimmy who took his life. I never used it and decided to try using it again but still didn’t release it. When I showed it to Oli, he loved the progression and we intended it as a tribute song in general, not as our actual last goodbye to him. But that’s what it has become. Oli was not just an amazing composer, performer and guitarist, but one of my favorite people I’ve had the privilege of calling a friend.”

Testament, Ex-Megadeth, Etc. Members Guest On New Lost Symphony Song “Take Another Piece”

Lost Symphony have recruited Marty Friedman (ex-Megadeth), Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Alex Skolnick (Testament), and Richard Shaw (Cradle Of Filth) for a new song titled “Take Another Piece.“ That track is from their new album “Chapter III,” which will be released on July 9.

Skolnick commented:

“When I first heard Lost Symphony, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew there’d be strong technical skills but was pleasantly surprised to hear how much else was going on: Melodic development, dynamics, compositional creativity and other elements not always present in music with this high a level of chops.

While there is plenty of fodder for fans of ‘shred,’ there is also no shortage of moments for listeners of true classical, soundtracks and other symphonic music as well. The music may sound serious, but the players have a serious sense of humor, which adds to the overall quality. It is humbling to share ‘guest guitar’ duties with Marty and Nuno, two guitarists I consider to be champions among our generation of players, and an overall honor to be brought in to participate.”

Friedman added:

“The folks in the Lost Symphony project have a deep love for guitar. Let me rephrase that, they are dangerously obsessed with it! Whenever I am invited to participate in their music, it is exciting to be around their tireless enthusiasm, and cool things always seem to happen because of it. The newest song, ‘Take Another Piece,’ may be my favorite of all the LS songs I`ve been a part of. There are some really unorthodox things going on.”

Lost Symphony Premiere “A Murder Of Crows” Video

Lost Symphony have premiered a new video for “A Murder Of Crows“ off their new album “Chapter II” (out October 16). That track is inspired by the memory of late All That Remains guitarist Oli Herbert and it features Jon Donais (Anthrax, Shadows Fall), Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall), and Jimi Bell (Autograph, House Of Lords).

Lost Symphony’s Benny Goodman commented:

“Someone had sent me a picture of hundreds of crows over a funeral reception. They asked me if I knew what a group of crows was called? ‘No idea?’ A murder of crows. Except it’s not just the birds doing it.”

Donais added:

“Working with Lost Symphony was such a blast for me! It’s an honor to play on a project with some of the best heavy-metal [and] rock guitarists out there. This is a must for anyone who loves shred guitar!”

Lost Symphony Premiere “No Exit” Video

Lost Symphony have premiered a new video for their new song “No Exit.“ The track, which features Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, Arch Enemy guitarist Jeff Loomis, and House Of Lords guitarist Jimi Bell, is from the band’s new album “Chapter II,“ which will be released on October 16. Benny Goodman commented:

“‘No Exit‘ is about feeling trapped to the point of panic. The music is the soundtrack to the torment that goes through your mind when one is deprived of their regular day. It’s truly a dream come true to be able to play with David Ellefson, Jimi Bell and Jeff Loomis on a song. Never in a million years did I think my anxiety would lead to my dreams coming true.”
