More artists have been added to the second annual “Above Ground” benefit concert. The event will take place at The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on September 16 and the updated lineup includes: Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction), Billy Idol, Billy Morrison (Billy Idol), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Jack Black (Tenacious D), Al Jourgensen (Ministry), Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction), Juliette Lewis, Steve Vai, Mike Garson (David Bowie), Brad Wilk (Prophets Of Rage/Rage Against The Machine), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Carmine Rojas (David Bowie), Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), Franky Perez (Deadland Ritual), Twiggy, Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver), Mixi Demner (Stitched Up Heart), Jason Christopher (Prong), Etty Lauy Farrell (Kind Heaven Orchestra), Erik Eldenius (Billy Idol), Paul Trudeau (Billy Idol), Donovan Leitch, and Julie Mintz. As previously reported, the all-star band will be playing David Bowie’s “The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars” and The Stooges’ self-titled debut album in full. Profits will be donated to MusiCares.

Deadland Ritual (Black Sabbath, Ex-Guns N’ Roses, Etc.) Premiere “Down In Flames” Video

Deadland Ritual, the band featuring Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol, etc.), and Franky Perez (Apocalyptica, ex-Scars On Broadway), have premiered a new video for their new song “Down In Flames.” You can check that out below. The group are planning to write more new singles and may go on to release a full album at some point. Until then, they will be performing tracks from their previous bands at live shows. So far, the group are booked for the June 14 date of the UK Download Festival and the June 22 date of Hellfest Open Air in Clisson, France.

Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol, etc.), and Franky Perez (Apocalyptica, ex-Scars On Broadway) have joined forces in a new band called Deadland Ritual. The group are currently scheduled to perform at Hellfest in Clisson, France on June 22.

Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sone Sour) & Wayne Kramer (MC5) To Be Honored At Rock To Recovery 2 Benefit Show

The 2017 Rock to Recovery benefit show has been announced, and this year the event will honor Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) and Wayne Kramer (MC5). Former Korn guitarist Wesley Geer founded Rock to Recovery in 2012 as a way to give non-musicians access its healing powers. This includes helping people recovering from PTSD, alcoholism, drug addiction, depression, and cancer treatments. The benefit will take place on September 16 at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, CA, and it will feature a Kings of Chaos set with Taylor and Kramer joining Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses), Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Franky Perez (Apocalyptica), and guests from Korn, Sevendust, Snot, D.I., Death on Wednesday, Kill Radio and Kut U Up.

Apocalyptica Premiere New Song “Shadowmaker”

Apocalyptica have released a new song titled “Shadowmaker.” This song is the title track of the band’s new album, which is expected to be released in April. Franky Perez (Scars On Broadway) handled the singing duties for this track and all the other vocal tracks on the album.
