Cleopatra Records will be releasing a tribute to Pink Floyd’s 1975 album “Wish You Were Here” on May 28. The effort is titled “Still Wish You Were Here” and it will feature Ian Paice (Deep Purple), James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Geoff Tate (ex-Queensrÿche), and more.

Foo Fighters, Ghost, Korn, Etc. Members Take Part In Auction For Roadie Relief

Members of Foo Fighters, Ghost, Korn, KISS, 311, and more have contributed signed items to a silent auction in an effort to raise money for Roadie Relief. The auction will run through April 14 at 32auctions.com.

Geezer Butler Says Deadland Ritual Might Not Continue

During a recent interview with Bass Magazine, Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) revealed that his Deadland Ritual project with Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses, etc.), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol, etc.), and Franky Perez (ex-Scars On Broadway, etc.) may not continue. He said the following:

“We had about 13 or 14 songs written, and we were about to go into the studio when the pandemic came along. And now Steve won’t leave his house [laughs], and so I think the singer [Franky Perez] is doing something else, and Matt is doing something also.”

Butler went on to say that the group had “some really good stuff” and that he “might rescue” it for a future solo album.

Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler & Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith To Be Honored At Adopt The Arts’ Eighth Annual Benefit Concert

Adopt The Arts, the organization co-founded by Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses, etc.), have announced that their 2020 benefit concert will be held at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA on May 12. The show will launch this year’s “Sound And Vision Awards,” which will honor Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and visual artist Shepard Fairey. In addition to Sorum, the event will also feature performances from Slash (Guns N’ Roses), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Dave Kushner (ex-Velvet Revolver), John 5 (Rob Zombie, etc.), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), and producer Andrew Watt (Post Malone, Ozzy Osbourne). Sorum said the following:

“Doing these annual events for Adopt the Arts are always rewarding with so many great artists stepping in to help out. I’m very grateful for all of my musician and artist friends who I’ve met throughout my career that believe in this organization. David Hasselhoff has revealed the details for his new album “Open Your Eyes.” The effort will be released on September 27 and it will feature a number of guests including Al Jourgensen (Ministry), Tracii Guns (L.A. Deadland Ritual (Black Sabbath, Ex-Guns N’ Roses, Etc.) Premiere “Down In Flames” Video

Deadland Ritual, the band featuring Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol, etc.), and Franky Perez (Apocalyptica, ex-Scars On Broadway), have premiered a new video for their new song “Down In Flames.” You can check that out below. The group are planning to write more new singles and may go on to release a full album at some point. Until then, they will be performing tracks from their previous bands at live shows. So far, the group are booked for the June 14 date of the UK Download Festival and the June 22 date of Hellfest Open Air in Clisson, France.
