Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler & Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith To Be Honored At Adopt The Arts’ Eighth Annual Benefit Concert

Adopt The Arts, the organization co-founded by Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses, etc.), have announced that their 2020 benefit concert will be held at the Avalon in Hollywood, CA on May 12. The show will launch this year’s “Sound And Vision Awards,” which will honor Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and visual artist Shepard Fairey. In addition to Sorum, the event will also feature performances from Slash (Guns N’ Roses), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Dave Kushner (ex-Velvet Revolver), John 5 (Rob Zombie, etc.), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), and producer Andrew Watt (Post Malone, Ozzy Osbourne). Sorum said the following:

“Doing these annual events for Adopt the Arts are always rewarding with so many great artists stepping in to help out. I’m very grateful for all of my musician and artist friends who I’ve met throughout my career that believe in this organization. I feel this year might be our best yet with the great Chad Smith and Geezer Butler along with the incredible Shepard Fairey as our honorees. This show is going to Rock!”

More artists have been added to the second annual “Above Ground” benefit concert. The event will take place at The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on September 16 and the updated lineup includes: Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction), Billy Idol, Billy Morrison (Billy Idol), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Jack Black (Tenacious D), Al Jourgensen (Ministry), Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction), Juliette Lewis, Steve Vai, Mike Garson (David Bowie), Brad Wilk (Prophets Of Rage/Rage Against The Machine), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Carmine Rojas (David Bowie), Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), Franky Perez (Deadland Ritual), Twiggy, Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver), Mixi Demner (Stitched Up Heart), Jason Christopher (Prong), Etty Lauy Farrell (Kind Heaven Orchestra), Erik Eldenius (Billy Idol), Paul Trudeau (Billy Idol), Donovan Leitch, and Julie Mintz. As previously reported, the all-star band will be playing David Bowie’s “The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars” and The Stooges’ self-titled debut album in full. The event will take place at The Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on September 16 and the duo will be performing with actor Joe Manganiello, Billy Idol, Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction), Etty Lau Farrell, Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Juliette Lewis, Steve Vai, Billy Duffy (The Cult), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Mike Garson (David Bowie), and more to be announced. Kings Of Chaos (Sammy Hagar, Slash, Duff McKagan Etc.) To Play A Benefit Show In San Francisco

Kings Of Chaos, the group composed of ex-Guns N’ Roses members, Slash, Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke, along with Sammy Hagar, Billy Duffy (The Cult) Glenn Hughes (ex-Deep Purple), and Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Slash), will be playing a special show in San Francisco, CA, on July 29. The group will be playing a benefit for Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project, which is a non-profit campaign, aimed at stopping the slaughter of dolphins. Tickets for this special event can be purchased via Live Nation on June 12.
