Geezer Butler Says Deadland Ritual Might Not Continue

During a recent interview with Bass Magazine, Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) revealed that his Deadland Ritual project with Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses, etc.), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol, etc.), and Franky Perez (ex-Scars On Broadway, etc.) may not continue. He said the following:

“We had about 13 or 14 songs written, and we were about to go into the studio when the pandemic came along. And now Steve won’t leave his house [laughs], and so I think the singer [Franky Perez] is doing something else, and Matt is doing something also.”

Butler went on to say that the group had “some really good stuff” and that he “might rescue” it for a future solo album.

Deadland Ritual (Black Sabbath, Ex-Guns N’ Roses, Etc.) Premiere “Bruised And Broken” Music Video

Deadland Ritual, the band featuring Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N’ Roses/Velvet Revolver), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol, etc.), and Franky Perez (Apocalyptica, ex-Scars On Broadway), have premiered a new video for their new song “Bruised And Broken.” Sorum told Loudwire the following:

“‘Broken and Bruised’ is the song that started Deadland Ritual. It is the birth of a new band with new music, something we all strive for as artists and musicians, moving forward with a new sound linked to our past and where we came from. I think ‘Broken and Bruised’ embodies that. The video is straight performance of four musicians doing what we do best, playing live rock n roll.”
