Tom Morello To Release New Album “The Atlas Underground Flood” In December, Shares Three New Songs

Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) will be releasing a new album, titled “The Atlas Underground Flood,” on December 3. The effort will feature a number of guests including members of Metallica, Rush, Idles, X Ambassadors, and more.

Metallica Share Remastered Version Of “The Struggle Within” Along With Rodrigo y Gabriela’s Cover Of The Song

As previously reported, Metallica will be releasing a 30th anniversary expanded edition of “The Black Album” and a massive tribute album called “The Metallica Blacklist“ on September 10. Now, the group have shared some more tracks from both releases. Among them are a remastered version of “The Struggle Within” from the expanded version of the album and Rodrigo y Gabriela’s cover of the same song from “The Metallica Blacklist.”

Metallica Announce 30th Anniversary Expanded Edition Of “The Black Album”, Recruit Corey Taylor, Ghost, Volbeat, Etc. For Companion Covers Album

Metallica will be releasing an expanded 30th anniversary edition of their 1991 self-titled album (aka “The Black Album”) on September 10. The effort has been remastered and it will be available in multiple formats including a limited edition deluxe box set featuring two 180 gram LPs, a picture disc, three live LPs, 14 CDs, 6 DVDs, a 120-page hardcover book, four different tour laminates, three lithos, three guitar picks, a folder with lyric sheets and a download card.

In other news, Metallica have also recruited over 50 artists for a special covers album called “The Metallica Blacklist.” All profits from that release will be donated to charity. Here’s the track listing:

Rodrigo y Gabriela Stream Cover Of Metallica’s “Battery”

Rodrigo y Gabriela are streaming their cover of Metallica‘s “Battery.” This track will appear on the duo’s new EP “Mettal,” which will be released as part of Record Store Day’s Black Friday event (November 29). It’s worth noting that the effort will also include covers of Megadeth‘s “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due” and Slayer‘s “Seasons In The Abyss.“ Gabriela Quintero said the following about the Metallica cover:

“We’ve played parts of ‘Battery‘ in our live set for many years. We’re so happy to release our studio version in full for our fans. Thank you to the fans for coming with us on this trip, and eternal gratitude to Metallica for the incredible music.”

Anthrax, Motörhead, Faith No More Etc. Set For 2015 Chicago Riot Fest

The initial lineup has been revealed for this year’s Chicago Riot Fest. The festival will take place September 11-13, at Douglas Park, in Chicago, IL, and will include: Anthrax, Motörhead, Faith No More, Atreyu, Alexisonfire, Thrice, The Devil Wears Prada, GWAR, Andrew W.K., Every Time I Die, Rancid, Living Colour and much more.
