It looks like Billie Joe Armstrong had a rockin’ New Year’s Eve. The Green Day frontman spent his night in New York City at Jesse Malin’s East Village club Berlin performing alongside The Replacements’ Tommy Stinson, The Hold Steady’s Tad Kubler, Blondie’s Clem Burke, the E Street Band’s Steven Van Zandt, Malin, his sons, etc. The musicians played a number of covers including tracks like The Replacements’ “Color Me Surprised.”
The initial lineup has been revealed for this year’s Chicago Riot Fest. The festival will take place September 11-13, at Douglas Park, in Chicago, IL, and will include: Anthrax, Motörhead, Faith No More, Atreyu, Alexisonfire, Thrice, The Devil Wears Prada, GWAR, Andrew W.K., Every Time I Die, Rancid, Living Colour and much more.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock,Tommy Stinson, current Guns N’ Roses bassist, has stated that Duff McKagan will be filling in for him for five South American dates, while Stinson plays a few North American festivals with his band, the Replacements. McKagan will play his first show with Guns N’ Roses on April 6 in Buenos Aires, and his last show on April 17 in Fortaleza, Brazil.
