  • Green Day Premiere “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.” Video

    Green Day have premiered a new video for their new song “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.” The track will appear on the soundtrack for the band’s upcoming movie “Nimrods.” That film will hit theaters on August 14 and it will focus on a young band who take a cross-country trip after believing they have an opportunity to open for Green Day on New Year’s Eve. The official soundtrack will arrive on July 31.

    DevilDriver have shared an official video for the title track of their new album “Strike And Kill.” That effort will be released on July 10. Frontman Dez Fafara said the following about the single:

    “‘Strike and Kill’ is a song about individuals that have to learn lessons the hard way. Sometimes in life, you need to learn things the hard way in order to make your next decision or next move properly. Beware the moves you make at midnight behind emotion and without any thought of consequence. For you will learn lessons, and they will be taught to you the hard way.”

  • Katerina Nicole Teams Up With AngelMaker’s Johnny Ciardullo For New Song “Black On White”

    Katerina Nicole has recruited AngelMaker’s Johnny Ciardullo for a new song titled “Black On White.” You can check out that track below:

    Nicole commented:

    “This track is my way of processing a truly disgusting situation I found myself in. Having Johnny on it felt less like a traditional feature and more like a confrontation — a stand-off between two voices. That dynamic gave the song an intensity it wouldn’t have had otherwise, making it one of the most powerful tracks we’ve created.”

    Ciardullo continued:

    “Working on this song with Kat was an absolute riot. It’s not every day you get to work on a song with someone you went to high school with 10+ years down the road. From the moment I heard the demo, I was excited to work on it and see where we could take it and I’m extremely proud of what it’s turned into.”

    Producer Jordan Chase added:

    “‘Black on White’ was a very late addition to the songs we had already written, but it was an absolute blast to create. We wanted to keep Kat’s signature sound, while also making a home for Johnny’s vocal style. It came together incredibly fast —and thankfully so— because Kat and I only had four hours to finish the final touches on the music and track all of her vocals. Sometimes, having a tight deadline can create real magic. Johnny’s and Kat’s vocals complement each other extremely well, and Johnny did an amazing job adding new ideas that we hadn’t even considered while demoing the song. The power of a crossover is definitely real on this one.”

    Yesterday (July 5), Megadeth ended up canceling their set at the EvilLive festival in Lisbon, Portugal at the last-minute. As such, fans responded by throwing cups at the stage. You can see footage of that below. The band commented on the cancellation:

    “Due to technical issues beyond our control, we are saddened and frustrated to share with you that we will not be able to perform tonight in Lisbon. We never want to let you down…and we are just as disappointed as you are with this situation. We look forward to returning to give you the show you deserve.”

    A new memorial has been erected for late Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Boulevard SE in Atlanta, GA. That location is the same spot where Hinds died in a motorcycle crash. The tribute also serves as a safety message telling drivers to take a second look before crossing.

  • Watch Metallica Members Cover Black Sabbath And Sex Pistols Live In London

    During Metallica’s July 5 show in London, UK, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo performed covers of Black Sabbath‘s “Electric Funeral” and Sex Pistols‘ “Holidays In The Sun“ as part of their “doodle” segment. You can see some fan-filmed footage of that below. Notably, the Black Sabbath cover came exactly one year after Metallica performed at Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s “Back To The Beginning” show in Birmingham, UK.
