Stick To Your Guns Stream “Amber” From New Acoustic EP “The Meaning Remains”

Stick To Your Guns will be releasing a new acoustic EP titled “The Meaning Remains” on February 18. The effort will feature four tracks including “Amber,” “Forgiveness Of Self,” “Nobody,” and a cover of A-ha’s “Take On Me.” You can stream the acoustic version of “Amber” below. Jesse Barnett commented:

“This is an EP of some of our most popular STYG songs translated in a new light. Although the setting of these songs may seem slow and somber, the meaning of these songs remains with the same furious passion for which they were intended. They are sung quietly and gently from the same place that they are screamed. For us, fury and peace go hand and hand. They are both tools that we believe are necessary. We hope you enjoy these songs you’ve heard a thousand times — but now in a new way.”

Thrice Release Acoustic Versions Of “Just Breathe” And “A Better Bridge“

Thrice have released a two-song EP featuring acoustic versions of “Just Breathe” and “A Better Bridge.“ Those tracks were previously recorded for SiriusXM‘s Octane. Dustin Kensrue commented:

“It’s always fun to try dig out the skeletons buried in the songs. We nearly always start songs with instrumental parts and craft melodic structure around those parts, and so it’s a process of discovery when we do a stripped-down project like this and cut things away to find the core of the song.”

Grey Daze To Release Acoustic EP “Amends… Stripped”

The late Chester Bennington’s pre-Linkin Park band Grey Daze have announced a new acoustic EP titled “Amends… Stripped.” The effort will be released on January 29 and it will feature stripped versions of “Shouting Out,” “Sometimes,” “Soul Song,” “What’s In The Eye,” and “The Syndrome.” A lyric video for the first single “Shouting Out” can be found below. Drummer Sean Dowdell said the following about that:

“One of the more interesting things about working with such a great singer like Chester, is the more you take away from his surroundings, the more you get to appreciate and hear all of the subtle nuances of his voice. He was a very special vocalist with an amazing writing ability, and it was very meaningful for us to use these different vocal performances on the acoustic version of ‘Shouting Out‘.”

Cancer Bats To Release New Acoustic EP “You’ll Never Break Us: Separation Sessions Vol. 1”

“You’ll Never Break Us: Separation Sessions Vol. 1” Track Listing:

01. “Deathsmarch To A New Acoustic Beat”
02. “Road Sick Sick Sick So Stay Home”
03. “Black Metal Bicycle My Blues Riffs Away”
04. “Darkness Lite”
05. “Bed Of Nails Dreams Of Tambourines”
06. “Lucifer’s Slightly Less Rocking Chair”
07. “Bastards Waltz Recorded Live From TV” (Bandcamp exclusive)

Liam Cormier commented:

“After having our road dog existence of constant touring over the past 15 years halted due to the pandemic, and with all four band members, now spread across Canada in separate cities, towns and Provinces, we haven’t been in the same room since March. While separated from each other, we thought what better time to re-examine and record new versions of 6 classic Bats tracks. With the end of 2020 just around the corner, the optimistic lyrics to ‘Deathsmarch‘ seem to ring truer now than when first shouted in 2008, ‘Hey World You’ll Never Break Us, try your hardest, try your hardest.’”

He also added:

“While we are excited for fans to hear and enjoy these new renditions, the other goal for this project is to raise funds and awareness for the clean water crisis that still exists within Canada for many Indigenous communities.”

Death Angel Premiere Video For Cover Of Queen & David Bowie’s “Under Pressure”

Death Angel have premiered a new video for their cover of Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure.” That single is the title track of the band’s new acoustic EP, which was released today (October 9). In addition to the cover, the effort also features a new song titled “Faded Remains” and new acoustic versions of “A Room With A View” and “Revelation Song.“

Mark Osegueda said the following about the EP:

“The ‘Under Pressure‘ EP is something I feel that we needed to release during these very frustrating times…These are very heavy times…And although it’s an all acoustic EP, It’s heavy in a different sense of the word. And music is how we express ourselves best!

These times will eventually pass and we shall all regroup and once again celebrate the other side of HEAVY that is the foundation of our truly fantastic Metal scene! Until then…Stay safe, healthy, and happy! I hope you enjoy!!”

Rob Cavestany added:

“What started out as simply expressing emotion through music as a cathartic reaction to the madness engulfing our world has turned into our first EP. Pure, raw and spontaneous, it’s also our first all acoustic release. Hoping this offering finds you well and brings warmth to your heart and soul. Together we shall overcome! Thank you for listening.”

Bad Omens To Release New Acoustic EP “FGBGFM Unplugged”

Bad Omens will be releasing a new acoustic EP titled “FGBGFM Unplugged“ on October 29. A video for the effort’s fist single, an acoustic version of “Never Know,” can be found below:

“FGBGFM Unplugged” Track Listing:

01. “Never Know”
02. “Limits”
03. “Careful What You Wish For”
04. “Mercy”
05. “Burning Out”
06. “If I’m There”

Bad Omens commented:

“When we decided to do this EP, we carefully selected what songs we thought were most important for people to hear at their core. As a band whose songs are typically built around a heavy production and a wall of heavy guitars alongside smashing drums, it was both exciting and refreshing for us to recreate our songs in this way. We hope you find yourself immersed in the stripped down side of Bad Omens on your listen through the FGBGFM stripped down EP.”
