VRSTY Premiere “Hush” Music Video

VRSTY have premiered a new video for their song “Hush.” This track is from the band’s latest album “Welcome Home.” Joey Varela commented:

“‘Hush‘ is definitely one of my favorite songs on the entire record. It’s also one of the most different songs simply because it’s more uplifting and fun rather than dark and moody —my usual mood! Writing this song was incredibly therapeutic for me yet also super scary. Because it was so different, I wasn’t sure if anybody was gonna like it. However when ‘Welcome Home‘ dropped, it ended up becoming a fan-favorite. I just hope it makes people feel the way it made me feel when I first wrote it.”

VRSTY Premiere New Song “Closer”

VRSTY have premiered a new song titled “Closer.” This track is from the band’s new album “Welcome Home,” which will be released on January 21. Joey Varela commented:

“‘Closer‘ literally came out of nowhere. It started as just a fun idea to get our creative juices flowing in the studio and ended up becoming its own thing. It’s definitely one of the more different songs on the record. Lyrics-wise, it’s also one of the easiest songs to connect to — if you’re an adult, that is!”

VRSTY Premiere New Song “Soul”

VRSTY have premiered a new song titled “Soul.” This track is from the band’s new album “Welcome Home,” which will be released on January 21. Vocalist Joey Varela commented:

“I love this song so much. It’s funny because this song was written way before the idea of a record was a thing and even before Spinefarm came along. This song came from a dream I had where I sold my soul to the devil and I heard the song playing in my head as I was dreaming. I woke up and wrote it, and it ended up becoming my favorite thing ever. It was also the first song I shared when I started putting together the record and it was the one everybody instantly fell in love with. In a weird way it’s like this song is its own person and it sucks everyone in.”

VRSTY Premiere New Song “Finesse” Featuring Notions

VRSTY have premiered a new song titled “Finesse.” This track features Notions and it will appear on the band’s new album “Welcome Home,” which is set to be released on November 19.

Joey Varela said the following about the song:

“‘Finesse‘ was a fun process. I think I wrote this song about two years ago and re-wrote it about three more times before scrapping it. Something always brought me back to it, though, and it was worth it, since it ended up making the record.”

“The song itself is about finding all of my heartaches and faults to be a blessing in disguise. Sure, everything hurts at the time, but it has all made me stronger. It has also made me a little crazier. Crazy is good, though.”

He also added the following about working with Notions:

“Over the years, I watched him develop into this incredible artist and I always told myself, ‘The day I get to do a full length, he ABSOLUTELY needs to be on it’ And here we are. I clearly couldn’t have chosen a better artist to feature on this song.”

VRSTY Cover Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”

VRSTY have released a cover of Lil Nas X‘s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).“ Vocalist Joey Varela said the following about that:

“I remember hearing ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)‘ for the first time and instantly thinking, ‘This song is perfect.’ I made it a fun little challenge to try to cover it and keep it as close to the original as possible, but to also add my own spin on it. It ended up being really fun and now I’m left trying to figure out how I can get a stripper pole in my apartment that will take me to hell.”
